Jinnah Class Frigate | Updates & Discussion

@Quwa

i never actually read the presser until now, but remember we spoke about this years ago? PN ordering damen platforms to convince them to open up regional MRO/a yard

As part of its scope as a PMSTP partner, Damen will be supporting the establishment of a local service centre to provide maintenance and services to Damen vessels operating in the region, such as the Pakistan Navy’s OPVs. Damen will collaborate with local businesses on shipbuilding projects, leveraging the advanced design and engineering capabilities it will develop as a partner in the PMSTP, enabling the joint design and development of new vessels for the Pakistan Navy.

You know what i think is gonna happen

either jinnah will get turned into a pmstp collaborative project or there will be a batch 2 that will be a pmstp collaborative project which will involve damen and the other parties too

Wasnt there a discussion regarding different iterative size/capability enhancements of JCF with first batch being 3300t with 16 cell VLs and gradually increasing size and VLS count in successive batched?

"On the blue sea, the Chinese Navy Type 054B frigate achieves radar stealth effect with its integrated stealth design.

Above the clouds, the Chinese Air Force J-35A cooperates with drones to build an air-space attack and defense center;

On the shore of the East China Sea, the PLA Eastern Theater Command's long-range firepower has redefined the long-range firepower boundary with its beyond-visual-range strike capability; cruise missiles, missiles, rockets, etc. can all be intercepted!

The PLA's new tank protection system-GL-6 active defense system can intercept targets coming from different directions!

These national heavy weapons with innovative genes demonstrate the vigorous vitality and technological breakthroughs of China's military industry in the new era."

Well these need to be hurried up very fast.
At present only five modern combat vessels at hand.

Navy needs alot of work done. Not sure why we would go for Jinnah class frigates when we can purchase 054As or the larger 054Bs, the Turkish also have İstif-class frigates.

Because 054'as will end up as artificial reefs in the face of BrahMos.

Type 054As is also equipped with SAM, and jamming systems. It's a modern cutting edge frigate.

modern? LY80A? Cutting edge? SARH with 4 channels, capable of guiding 8 missiles in total, 2 per arc! Remember the Moskva and why it went down? A simultaneous, multi direction attack meant it could not defend itself.
If their payload hits the Indian ships they to will end the same i.e. YJ-12.
Yeh, but, a single brahmos mag dump is plenty enough to completely overwhelm a 054a's defensive suite.

8 missiles inbound, 2 HQ-16s per target, its nothing but a watery grave, the 054A's do not havr the systems onboard to defend from such an attack.

OTOH, 4 YJ-12's from a single 054A is a far more "manageable" threat in the sense that its alot harder to overwhelm with such little mag depth.

It's the same from our ships, but I do share your concerns regarding the intercept, or lack of capability of the 054A, a serious issue.
Have to disagree with the YJ-12 being more manageable, apart from changing course that's about it. Although they have better options than the PN to deal with it.

more manageable in the sense that at most there will only be 4 to deal with per attacking ship.
