For goodness sake, your nation is facing a frozen conflict - open your eyes and look at the bigger picture for some time, you can keep discussing political matters in political threads.

I am upset at idiotic establishment which once again disturbed political and democratic evolution in Pakistan with another moronic political engineering project, which also blew up in their faces very quickly. I would prefer however to discuss all that in a separate thread.

Whatever his design, I think he makes a very valid point on this occasion.

Yes I agree on the whole - but the constant barbs at the military is tiresome and has been discussed ad nauseam, time and a place for critique - trust me, now is NOT the time nor the place.

• Dehumanise Pakistan
• Damage Pakistan

Afghanistan under the Afghan Taliban is not going to backstab Pakistan the way Karzai/Ghani govt would have. Whether we like the current Afghan regime or not, it has more 'legitimacy' then the puppet regimes installed by NATO or by the Soviets before them. Maybe the current regime will extract some $$ from desperate Indians and make some noise but I don't see its going to go too far. Plus we have an important meeting between Pakistan, China and Afghanistan in China tomorrow (Monday or Tuesday?).
The Chinese are really in the game.

Yaar, that's exactly what I'm saying. In which sane country would you find during heightened tensions the army chief, airforce chief and other high profile individuals casually watching Cricket. For one thing, it's a huge security risk and secondly, not a good look. These higher-ups need to be a lot more serious then they appear to be to ensure maximum protection for the state. As you say, they need to be looking at what's on the horizon and not do these silly PR stunts to elevate their egos.

well maybe this is part of combating India. I remember Gen Bajwa was also deeply involved in the setup of PSL and convincing foreigner players to come play PSL in Pakistan. So by this point I believe PSL is an establishment sponsored project to counter the weaponization of cricket that India has engaged in against Pakistan.
