With one 1 Milgem Corvette fully Operational and 3 units nearing Commission
It is good to see the program complete

Would be nice if we had 8 Milgem Corvettes , we do have a short fall in our Corvette class ships , below Asian Standard or averages, if we we compare with Navies in Asia in general

It's actually the first time Navy has really expanded the Corvette Category

Would be interesting to see which platform performs well in Pakistan Navy between the Damen OPV (Yarmouk Class) and Milgem (Babur Class)

It would be nice read to know which of the two platform is more advance
Both programs seem to pack a good punch

On Paper it seems the Milgem are suppose be more advance ship using the best in Turkish Engineering

The original 4 Deliveries were expected to take some time it was already mentioned when order was signed, so these ships are following the normal delivery schedule

The promotional video of Milgem are looking quite good

PNS Khaibar (F-282) Commences Sea Trials in Türkiye, Marking Major Milestone in Pakistan Navy's Modernization



The Pakistan Navy’s Babur-class corvette PNS Khaibar (F-282) has commenced its Sea Acceptance Trials (SAT) from Istanbul Naval Shipyard, following the successful completion of outfitting and harbor trials. This milestone marks a key phase in the vessel’s journey toward operational deployment.

PNS Khaibar is the third of four multi-mission corvettes being acquired under the Pakistan-Türkiye MILGEM project, a major bilateral defense initiative. The ship has been constructed by Türkiye’s state-owned defense contractor ASFAT at the Istanbul Shipyard, while the remaining vessels are being built at Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works (KS&EW) under a technology transfer arrangement.

Modern Multi-Mission Corvette​

The Babur-class corvettes are designed to support anti-surface, anti-air, and anti-submarine warfare roles. PNS Khaibar features stealth characteristics, a high degree of automation, and is equipped with modern sensors and combat management systems. Key performance specifications include a displacement of approximately 2,926 tons, a length of 108 meters, and a top speed exceeding 30 knots. It also offers a range of 3,500 nautical miles and an endurance of up to 15 days at sea.

The vessel is armed with a combination of surface-to-air missiles, anti-ship and land-attack cruise missiles, a 76mm main gun, close-in weapon systems, remote weapon stations, and advanced radar and sonar technologies.

Strengthening Indigenous Capability​

The PN MILGEM project is a flagship example of defense collaboration between Pakistan and Türkiye. In addition to strengthening Pakistan’s maritime capabilities, it enhances local shipbuilding expertise through knowledge and technology transfer. The program is significantly contributing to the modernization of the Pakistan Navy and supports its objective of ensuring maritime security in the region.

Next Steps​

Upon the successful completion of sea trials, PNS Khaibar will be delivered to the Pakistan Navy later this year. The induction of this advanced corvette will further enhance Pakistan’s ability to conduct sustained naval operations in both coastal and deep-sea environments.

The PNS Khaibar is expected to join its sister ships in bolstering regional deterrence and securing Pakistan’s maritime interests in the Indian Ocean Region.
 
The claim was made that it took longer during first 4 as everyone was learning and training

Technically it is possible to get 2 more ships at faster delivery rate now that every thing is quite streamlined
 
I think it was already explained these last 2 ships will likely be commissioned end of year but they are operational at sea

First set of 4 Corvette Class ships , a big mile stone

From Zero to 4 ships

These ships can likely increase in number as we are bit far in term of Corvette ship numbers

They should be especially given that we did 2 in house. There was a reason for that, to be able to replicate the formula.
 
Turks have turned out to have done a good job with this platform

4 x Ada Class for Turkish Navy + 1 x Intelligence ship

then 4x for PN

2 x Ukraine + 3 x for Malaysia

that's 14 warship hulls


not to mention 10 Hulls for the Hisar Class makes 24 x Hulls

compared to the FREMM Class they have 21 x Hulls

10 x for Italy
8 x France
2 x Egypt
1 x Morocco

+ USN orders of which there is 6 units so far
