The author of that comment probably made a mistake by confusing Salafism with Sufism. They do sound similar to a non-Muslim.Istill don't understand though how I got inserted into this discussion. I didn't partake besides my likes emojies. Please enlighten me!
He said that many people confused Sufism with Wahhabism, in response to a comment about Iranians confusion about Sunni Islam and Wahhabism. Of course, this is nonsense as Sufism is deeply rooted in the Persian culture and any Iranian knows that. It's like asking the colors of the flag of Iran from an Iranian. Hafez, Mowlana, Attar, Hallaj, Saadi, they all were great Iranian poets that explored Sufism in their poetry.
It's like saying that a French doesn't know the difference between baguette and burger buns. Or an Italian doesn't know the difference between Pizza and Tacos. I mean Wahhabism is not even similar to Sufism to begin with. How can Iranians, most of all, confuse the two?
