Slavs are generally calm and cool-headed. I don't think of them as bad people per se, but you have to understand that Russia has always had issues with Iran.
Regardless of the fact that Russia is responsible for annexing nearly one-fourth/one-third of our territory, and hard feelings between us because of that and their interference in our politics for decades if not centuries, they continue to feed the Russians with propaganda against Iran.
Russians maintain a much more amicable relations with Turkey than Iran, even though Turkey is a NATO country that blocked their plans for attacking Odessa. If you ask Russians what they know about the history of Iran-Russia relations, probably, by far, their response would be the assassination of Aleksandr Griboydev by "savage Iranians".
The Ayatollahs had been warned, times and times again, to never trust Russians. But they never listened. Just like they didn't listen to good advice about nuclear deterrence or upgrading Iran's outdated air force.
