Iran Not having an Airforce or Israel Having one did not stop Tel Aviv from being decimated last night. Yes they might have low defenses but then again they have high tolerance for losses. Israelis are bit*hing around on their streets about thier Govt and Iranians are celebrating in streets.

What Air Force? We didn’t have an airforce! When was the last time Iranian airforce did anything in past 10 years or 20 years?

This is what I tried to warn this damn board for decades. You cannot be a 1 trick pony and only rely on missiles for defenses. You cannot expect your air defense network to withstand hundreds of strikes and ECW and spies without collapsing.

You need air power!

You need supersonic stealth drones that can fly to Israel and drop bombs in a matter of a couple hours and come back!

Instead all funding went to speedboats, large intelligence ships, missiles, and more missiles.

Well guess what, when you can’t take your missiles out of the cave and you lost the skies, your screwed!

Retake her skies? With what? F-5’s? Helicopters? Passenger planes? The F-14’s are likely gone. The only asset was old MiGs which are probably destroyed as well.

Iranian Air Force probably fled to Pakistan to save what little hardware they have left.

Iran isn’t retaking their skies anytime soon if ever. Unless Pakistan Air Force comes to defend Iranian skies which is about as likely as Russia or China entering this war directly.

Iran is alone. Its proxies are dead. Dark days. Who knows if IRI survives this at this point. So far they have taken a lot of hits in Day 2 without any response.

Iran's sky makes it impossible for Israeli planes to take off or land. If you don't pull Israel back to the horizontal and have air superiority in Israel, Iran can only be beaten passively.

I don't know what choice Iran is left with other than to take this war to a logical conclusion of 'do or die'? Israel is clearly following a policy of regime change and/or 'mowing the grass', which means Israel will 'degrade' Iran a lot right now and then keep doing that in future as a repeat of Israel's 'mowing the grass' in Gaza. If Iranians want to retain their sovereignty then they not allow Israel to establish the new doctrine, the new normal. But if Iran cannot do that then save some lives, go back to the Shah of Iran era, forget about the Middle East and become another Egypt or Jordan: At peace as a vassal state of America, thus joining dozens other countries in that role.
PS. The 'mowing the grass' analogy was also applied by an Indian analyst recently when India attacked Pakistan early May 2025, borrowing one of the many things India does from Israel.

200 drones in particular is hard to fathom. are our stocks of drones this low? we should be launching that many drones and missiles per hour.

That's just nonsense. This is exactly why Iran is in this situation. Most of its leaders killed in the first few minutes, supreme leader hiding in a bunker like a rabbit, and Israel continuing is assult. The problem with Iran is that they relied on ancient ballistic missiles and never considered modernizing its missiles or they were too arrogant to purchase anything else off the self. Even North Korea has better ballistic missiles then Iran. If they had hypersonic like DF17, Israel would have been cooked. Btw, if your air strips are targeted, even F22 would be sitting duck.

We likely gave Israel north of $500 billion in funds to keep economy afloat and weapons since late 2023. Maybe even close to one trillion. Whatever the US is providing for Israel is not being disclosed to the American public.

Problem is Arab and Turks did not care at all about changing strategic equation in region. It was a missed once in a lifetime opportunity. Arabs don't take initiative and region has been suffering for decades because of that. They used to. It's not because their ethnicity.

A massive missed opportunity. And now Iran is alone 1 v 1 with Israel. No Solemani, No Nasrallah, no top IRGC commanders that formed the proxy project (they were killed in Syria last 10 years).

Like I said, if IRI collapses or implodes, I wouldn’t be surprised at this point.
