Britain is deploying assets, including fighter jets, to the Middle East amid tensions between Iran and Israel, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said Saturday while heading to Canada for G7 talks.

"We are moving assets to the region, including jets, and that is for contingency support," Starmer told reporters travelling with him on his plane to Ottawa.

The UK leader said he had spoken with both US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu since Israel launched its first attacks on Iran early Friday, hitting military and nuclear sites. According to officials, dozens have been killed, including top army and Revolutionary Guards commanders, as well as civilians. Iran has responded with barrages of drones and missiles fired at Israel overnight Friday into Saturday.

Starmer said the situation was "fast moving" as well as "intense." "We're having ongoing discussions with our allies all of the time, both myself and (Foreign Minister) David Lammy... who also spoke to the Iranians," he said. "Our constant message is de-escalate, and therefore everything we're doing, all discussions we're having are to do with de-escalation."

The UK leader said his talk on Friday with Netanyahu had been "good and constructive" and had "included discussions about the safety and security of Israel."

It did more. It hurt the regime's image internally beyond repair.

Not if Iranian army themselves topple Mullahs and claim a counter revolution. Become a nationalist state that doesn't meddle in middleeast or makes empty slogans against Israel. They will then be able to talk to China Russia Usa GCC and find a solution, to stop their country from being destroyed.

I started looking at this thread this morning, and i was 40 page behind. I have done nothing today but read this thread, trying to catchup and as i am now thinking about going to going to bed, i am still 37 pages behind ....

Iran's only chance of success is to pull and stretch out the timeline of this war, same way the Russians left their capital to let Napolean take it over, only for nature to do its work and the same war the Germans failed at the Battle of the Bulge when initial massive successes petered out due to logistical issues.

Israel cannot maintain a sustained war over this distance much longer due to logistical issues. There are only so many missions they can do, so many flights before maintenance catches up and planes start falling out of the sky. That is why Israel tries to make their wars "quick". They have no staying power. That is why they are starting to bark a lot now with air superiority and path paved to Tehran "messaging" etc, they are running out of time and needs Iran to either agree or the Americans to enter the war on its behalf. Iran has to be prepared to take serious hits that are humiliating, to accept the longer term goals. That is why Israel is now bombing gas fields, it is just pressure they are trying to apply. They have damaged and destroyed all the nuclear stuff they are capable of.

That is the sad reality. Hard days ahead.

Netanyahu has the look of a man trying to Hussle Iran into his time frame, he knows it, you can see it in his eyes. He has to get this done quickly. Look at his last speech.

Time is Irans weapon, and they should use it. Keep slowly hitting Israel (no 2000 missiles in a day, just 20-30, keep the temperature warm) and let this start feeling like a disaster for Israel. A quagmire. No snappy, quick victory. Weeks, months is the scale. ( I hope Iran does not blink ).

My hopes, thoughts and prayers are for Iran tonight as it has been always since this all started. I hope Iran can pull through.
