Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

dude while you're reading thousands of old posts and bathing in yesterdays glory, the mood have radically shifted. No one is praising anything right now.
Sorry about that. I was recently advised to change and I have.
Now please tell me. Don't you find you post sad? Same people cheering yesterday have gone back to being defeatist spineless females. Is my fault that you see no fault in that? Hmm 🤔 Give it some thought.

What are the risks of Israeli strikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities?

Victoria Gill
Science correspondent

While Israeli attacks have targeted Iran’s nuclear facilities, they have focused on uranium enrichment facilities.

Damage to those sites does not pose the risk of a “nuclear incident” the likes of disasters at Chernobyl or Fukushima, experts have told BBC News. That’s because there is no nuclear reaction taking place in an enrichment facility.

When nuclear reaction takes place, atoms of uranium are split in a controlled fission reaction that produces heat for power and waste products that are more radioactive than the uranium fuel.

Enrichment facilities, on the other hand, simply produce the fuel.

Nuclear materials scientist Prof Simon Middleburgh from Bangor University explained to me that if an enrichment facility were bombed “the uranium being enriched would be ejected from the facility - possibly into the environment.

“But no nuclear reaction is likely to occur, and therefore the hazards would remain local and pose no radiological risk beyond a small exclusion zone around the facility.”

Iran should have prepared over last two years for this scenario. It seems to have taken the threats seriously ever since Trump ultimatum, but that wasn't enough time to prepare.

US is gonna get involved Friday night likely.

We all knew this would happen. I wonder why IR didn't take threats seriously since the Gaza war and war on Lebanon, and fall of Assad.

Or since those Israeli strikes after TP2. More could have been done, imo.

Iran will be okay but they'll set back Iran. Unless there are many secret facilities we don't know about.

Iran moved some stuff out of facilities as well.

American taxpayers will foot the bill

Yes that is true and also

Well actually the plan is to put Tariff on world and they also foot the bill and money goes to Israel

If you recall 80 billion was whipped up over night and given to Israel while world called for sanction on Israel over Genocide

Iran made a logical decision regarding the aircrafts. Unless you are USA, or China, no one is going to build an airforce to take on IDFs aircrafts.

They would simply be sitting ducks. What they should have developed is a better ADS system or bought one from Russia/China at all costs.
Pakistan was under sanctions and so was Iran at the same time in the 1990s.

Pakistan collaborated with China to build lightweight fighter aircrafts, nothing too fancy, just wanted to ensure it had enough aircrafts to replace it's older fleet of lighter weight fighter aircraft that were becoming obsolete.

Pakistan still developed nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles but it also prioritised it's air force.

Why didn't Iran choose the same path considering Iran is twice as big as Pakistan in area, needed twice as many fighter aircraft, it had far more resources at the time and it needed to defend it's airspace like everyone else does?

Did the strategists believe it could simply intimidate others with it's ballistic missiles leaving it's airspace vulnerable?

More than 450 killed in Iran since Friday - human rights organisation

We can bring you a little more information now about the number of people killed in Israeli strikes on Iran. The not-for-profit organisation Human Rights Activists in Iran (HRANA) has been tracking casualties since the bombardment began.

According to HRANA, 224 civilians have been killed, with 188 injured.

A further 109 military members have been killed, with 123 injured, it says.

There have also been 119 people killed, and 335 injured, that have not yet been identified.

That brings HRANA's total count to 452 people killed and 646 injured.

Iranian state media has been quiet on the number of deaths so far, releasing few hard numbers from the government.

Restrictions in the country mean it is difficult for journalists to routinely operate there, meaning it is difficult to verify the true toll of the conflict so far.

I would advise you to give up this habit of reading every post and just jump to latest news in a fast moving situation. Then we could all benefit from your commentary rather then reading response to stale news.
Wallahi I should have listened to you from the beginning. I've changed my ways. Old man can still adapt 😅

yes, yes and yes...Again, why is Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Oman, SA,...etc not fighting for all that is holy? Because Iran is a sacrificial lamb. You will fight till last Irani. Again, why Iran? Then again, it is all good for you, just not for Irani people. No one stands with them. Nevermind the "social media" warriors. Irani people should look to what is good for Iran.

You made a valid point. I will give an honest answer. They all are scared for repercussions. We saw Pak def-minister writing emotional tweets but nothing practical. Big part of Israelis operations is psyOps along with actual action. So despite their tiny size, they are able to dominate psychologically. So nobody tries to do something against them.

Iran launched several missiles toward Israel, IDF said, as air raid sirens briefly sounded across country

Air raid sirens were activated across large swaths of Israel at around 5 p.m. local time (10 a.m. ET).

“Iran is attacking again,” the Israel Defense Forces said in a short statement on X.

The Israeli military said in a separate statement that Iran had launched several missiles toward Israel in the past hour. “Most of them were intercepted,” it added.

Within an hour, the Israeli Home Front Command gave citizens the all-clear to leave their bomb shelters.

The tragic irony if one of the remaining members of the ‘Everything is awesome’ group dies in this USA carpet bombing.

(Assuming you even live in Iran)
We'll soon find out won't we? If I should die, I die as a man who's been consistent from day one. Enjoy life as spineless coward. And don't worry. Should the situation warrant it then I promise you that I'll gladly be in Iran defending the home front.

"Years-long research" lost in Iranian strike on key Israeli research center, employees say

Scientific research has been lost after an Iranian missile struck the Weizmann Institute of Science, according to employees of the institute.

The institute works on scientific and medical advancements, and its Professor Ada Yonath won a Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2009 for mapping the ribosome. It has also collaborated with the military and defense companies, including Elbit Systems, a leading Israeli defense company that specializes in drones and naval, land and aerial weapons.

Two scientists at the center, Eran Segal and Eldad Tzahor, said on X that their lab was destroyed by the strike, sharing images of the destruction.

Mor Moria Shipony, a graphic designer at the center, told CNN the labs had been “completely burnt down.”

“My colleagues conducted years-long research and had equipment worth millions of dollars — and now it’s all gone,” she said.
She said they almost considered staying at shelters in the center, “but thankfully we decided not to. Fortunately, only property was damaged, which makes us feel very lucky.”

Israeli President Isaac Herzog visited the site of the strike today, where he stressed that “Iran will try havoc, death, destruction. We will continue promoting life, liberties, civil liberties, and, of course, democracy and the plight for peace as we believe in.”

Israel has also targeted three key Iranian nuclear facilities — Natanz, Isfahan and Fordow — and several top scientists involved in nuclear research and development, some of whom were killed with their families in their homes.

Iran cannot fire 200 missiles a day. Iran has limited supply. Keep firing 5 to 15 missiles every day for as long as it takes OR for the whole of the war duration is better then exhausting your entire arsenal in first few days. These launches has kept entire Israeli population and economy in a bunker bound lockdown. Its not a sprint anymore. War has entered in a Marathon. Iran can win this, if it takes all the blows and still keep standing and keep hitting back even at much less scale.

So then Iran does have very limited missile stocks if that's the case. I don't even think it has the capabilities to launch more missiles even if there was no issue with the stocks given the lack of launchers. Iran won't win on attrition as its military is degraded by the day and its military and scientific leadership is killed. There are now IAEA reports that Natanz strikes have hit/damaged the underground enrichment facilities. It all comes down to Fordow, if that is destroyed (with help from the Americans) then its game over.

If the idea now is we can't rain missiles but depend on economic crisis then we are in trouble. Did you see how Israel's stock exchange performed yesterday? (hint: every single listed company but one saw growth) while Iran is actually economically dead with a closed stock exchange, Tehran is deserted, fuel depots across the country have been decimated, targeting their domestic consumption.

It's time to let go of the pom poms regarding what we want to happen and look at reality, and it ain't pretty.
