At odds are two separate regional blocks... regional hegemony and run for resources. Anyone pushed back a few decades now will NOT return for the rest of the century. It is to keep the players off balance.

Regional balance of power goes out of the window and a severe power vacuum will throw region in chaos. There is a similar balance of power between Pakistan and India. They know exactly what they're up to...

I said this before. This war must not stop. Not at this stage. Any ceasefire agreement, Iran should demand that it be all-encompassing. Meaning a ceasefire and withdrawal in every arena including South Lebanon and Gaza. This is the stategic price Iran should exact on israel for their catastrophic mistake.
Short of that, Iran must be unrelenting and drag this out for as long as it takes.

Hezbollah maybe can, Hamas cannot. Gaza is in a dire situation. Everyday civilians are being massacred over bags of flour. Gaza is entirely devastated.
There's a active ground invasion and partial occupation in Gaza.
