Is there a Chinese version of the E7 Wedgetail?

At present, China does not have a program similar to the “E-7A Wedgetail”. In our analysis, it is unlikely that there will be such a project in the future.

The first issue for China's AWACS program is the development of better aircraft platforms, followed by the development of better radar back-end analysis systems. As for antenna array technology, China has now surpassed the United States in this area.

China has begun testing a large “Spherical Conformal Array Antenna” on the KJ-200B platform. This is the only project known to have been put into practical application. Once the technology matures, no large antennae will be visible on future Chinese AWACS aircraft. These antennas will be perfectly integrated with the fuselage of the aircraft.

The engine look to have the old cowlings/shape of the Y-20A.
