PAF J-35AE - News, Updates and Discussions

Interesting. UAE, Saudi, Qatar, Bahrain and Egypt all have massive US military presence though....
I heard some of them had been investing in the project since the early days, and they had been waiting for the plane to mature.

Yes, security arrangments should be iron clad if it is in those countries, sure US will try and do all it can to get the secrets
But I am curious about when the export plane can start to deliver because we know both the air force and the navy are waiting and have placed huge orders.

Interesting revelation made in the latest edition of AFM. PAF is not the first export customer of the J-35!!!

Didn't you read these words carefully? ------ "......on Chinese social media......" "Chinese sources......"

Then, the opposite content will appear on Chinese social media. ------ "......on Pakistani social media......" "Pakistani sources......"

This is clearly "fantasy" news that is caught in a vicious cycle.

Some unnamed Arab country, according to some Weibo accounts.
I doubt Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar would purchase the J-35AE due to strong U.S. influence and military presence in these countries, which would also raise security concerns for China. Similarly, Algeria is unlikely since they recently acquired the SU-57E, and Morocco can be ruled out given their clear alignment with the U.S. and Israel. If any Arab country is considering the J-35AE, my guess would be Egypt. Egypt has historically procured Chinese weapons, and their recent joint military exercises with China further support this possibility. China certainly knows better, but from my perspective, Egypt also isn't fully reliable, given their regime's alignment with Western interests and the absence of a robust domestic industry to support comprehensive military training and maintenance.

Unnamed source strikes again

But just like how the social media source told us the exact day of the first flight of J36, if you have to wait for official confirmation, expecting years after the event took place, even 5 years to 10 years.

I don't know who the first customer of the FC-31/J-35 export version is? I don't know if any customer has placed an order.

The news I got was: "CATIC has not placed an order yet."
It means, "There are no FC-31/J-35s in production for any foreign customers."

We shall see who the first customer is, I believe it is not PAF.

I have shared my views in earlier discussions in this thread.

I have no doubt that the PAF will get the FC-31. But when the PAF actually gets the FC-31 depends on India.

This is a judgment based on the relationship between China/India/Pakistan.
When neither India nor Pakistan has 5th-Gen fighters, PAF is fully capable of resisting the IAF's attack. But it is also difficult for PAF to launch offensive operations deep into India. Neither side can launch a real large-scale war.
However, if PAF gets 5th-Gen fighters first, then they can quietly kill all the air defense systems of IAF. After that, they can fly unscrupulously in the sky of New Delhi... This is not in line with China's strategy.

So, when will the FC-31 actually arrive at the PAF? This is a question that requires a lot of wisdom.

👎 Nope, forget the J-35 or even F-35, I was indeed totally wrong: Pakistan will get F-22!!

Well PAF COAS statement and Pak PM statement seem to indicate that offer has been made and things are being put in place for China to deliver 5th Gen way before India has it.

Everything depends on personal whims. This post is accepted by one party and rejected by another, although betrayal is one and indivisible. However, the word is accepted by those who consider us a friend, and we are not accepted by those who imagine that we are not a friend. In all cases, the facts will become clear, and every action has its price.

So in summary you believe this nonsense since you rate yourself a friend of Pakistan and since You assume I'm not a friend it is pretty clear I deny this?

I honestly expected this forum to be mature enough to dismiss the baseless rumor about the U.S. offering F-22s or F-35s to Pakistan. Anyone seriously entertaining this idea either lacks a basic understanding of U.S.-Pakistan relationship or isn’t aware of the broader geopolitical dynamics in South Asia.
