It isn't a cope, I actually believe it right now, because it just doesn't make sense otherwise. I'd expected to hear and read about some warning signs of imminent attack about to happen, or at least ongoing, and for them to go on for a while if they are really aiming to completely destroy Irans nuclear program, especially with everyone monitoring everything going on there now. The element of surprise shouldn't be possible anymore.
I agree, I would never trust any leadership that cuts such deals with US/Israel, but maybe IRI did it to save their skin and avoid being toppled all together. Mind you, its still early and this is just complete speculation on my part, we still know nothing about the situation. Iran's response will be most telling going forward, if they hit back hard, close the strait of Hormuz or strike US assets in the region, then at least we'll know they weren't in on it. But if they do the usual token attack, lob a few missiles followed by empty big words and promises, and then go quiet, then we know it was a backdoor deal.
