Iran has been upping the ante and assuming a lot of risk over its geopolitical gambles. Even if we charitably discount its role in the Israel-Gaza war, there is still a lot Iran is doing:
  • Suppling weapons to Russia
  • Building new enrichment sites
  • Accelerating its uranium enrichment to 60% purity
  • Regional rivalries with Gulf states including drone attacks
  • Supporting proxies like Houthis, Hezbollah, al-Assad
What was the hedge against potential blowbacks if things went south? Iran doesn't have a capable air force, navy or army so no real conventional deterrence. Iran had the option of retaliating against European and American forces stationed in Afghanistan. Once they were gone so was the deterrence factor.

America and Israel has all manners of deterrence options ranging from conventional to nuclear. They can assume risk and absorb blowbacks. Iran cannot and its learning an important lesson here.

The way I'm reading this is that this was coordinated with Iran. Basically Trump informed them before hand that they would bomb those sites to satisfy his neocons but not escalate. Iran would withdraw their people before hand and watch the drama play out.

Now the question is, what needs to be done to get to a ceasefire? Because if the US is demanding that Iran needs to give up all nuclear capability or even ballistic missile capability, then the situation will continue escalating.

calm down, the fire was at our doors during the 20 years of American occupation in Afghanistan and when zio think tanks were claiming TTP will soon take Islamabad.

What makes you think they will let Iran have the chances?

We don't know what happens next - they may keep attacking and hit all facilities or infrastructure used to produce missiles, they may hit other key assets, they may introduce and enforce harsher sanctions.

The reformist is part of the leadership, and they've had gov control more than the hardliners? If the IRGC wants sanctions why did they allow the reformist to go for the JCPOA (which suceeded if not for Trump), not once but twice if we include the latest disastrous nuclear negotiations with Trump? And if I recall, it was Raisi and his crew who became "gone" not some reformist!

None of your arguments are objective or bulit on concrete facts, it's just lazy conspiracies and street talk. Sorry but I dont buy it.
