Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

Case Study Report: States Disarmed, Then Toppled

1. Libya – Muammar Gaddafi (2003–2011)

• Disarmament: In 2003, Libya agreed to dismantle its weapons of mass destruction (WMD) programs, including nuclear ambitions and chemical weapons, in exchange for normalization with the West.

• Western Praise: U.S. and UK hailed the move as a success of diplomacy.

• Downfall: In 2011, during the Arab Spring, NATO intervened militarily in support of rebel forces. Gaddafi was killed, and the country collapsed into chaos.

• Outcome: Libya descended into civil war and remains fragmented. Many analysts now cite this as a cautionary tale for disarmament.

2. Iraq – Saddam Hussein (1991–2003)

• Disarmament: After the 1991 Gulf War, Iraq was subjected to intense weapons inspections. By 1995–1998, Iraq had destroyed most of its WMDs, as later confirmed by post-2003 investigations.

• Ceasefire Agreement: Iraq accepted UN Security Council Resolution 687, ending the Gulf War and requiring disarmament.

• Downfall: Despite a lack of WMDs, the U.S. invaded Iraq in 2003 under the pretext of WMD possession. Saddam was captured and later executed.

• Outcome: Iraq descended into sectarian conflict, giving rise to insurgencies and later ISIS.

3. Ukraine – Budapest Memorandum (1994)

• Disarmament: Ukraine agreed to give up the world’s third-largest nuclear arsenal inherited from the USSR, in exchange for security assurances from the U.S., UK, and Russia.

• Assurance Breached: In 2014, Russia annexed Crimea and backed separatists in eastern Ukraine. Western powers did not intervene militarily.

• Ongoing War: Russia launched a full-scale invasion in 2022.

• Outcome: The memorandum proved to be a non-binding document, and Ukraine was left to defend itself.

4. South Vietnam – Paris Peace Accords (1973)

• Ceasefire Agreement: The U.S., South Vietnam, North Vietnam, and the Viet Cong signed a ceasefire agreement to end the Vietnam War.

• U.S. Withdrawal: The U.S. pulled out its troops, believing South Vietnam would hold.

• Collapse: In 1975, North Vietnam launched a full-scale offensive, leading to the fall of Saigon.

• Outcome: South Vietnam ceased to exist; the country was unified under communist rule.

5. Ethiopia – Derg Regime Ceasefire (1991)

• Context: Mengistu Haile Mariam, head of the Marxist-Leninist Derg regime, faced growing pressure from rebel groups.

• Ceasefire & Retreat: As rebel forces closed in, the regime signed ceasefires and Mengistu fled.

• Outcome: The regime collapsed; Ethiopia transitioned to a new government.

6. Serbia/Yugoslavia – Slobodan Milošević (1999–2000)

• Ceasefire & Withdrawal: In 1999, after NATO’s bombing campaign over Kosovo, Milošević agreed to withdraw Serbian forces and allow NATO/KFOR peacekeepers into Kosovo.

• Outcome: Though he retained power briefly, mass protests and Western pressure led to his ousting in 2000. He was arrested and handed over to The Hague.

• Significance: His compliance with Western terms failed to secure his position; he was tried for war crimes and died in custody.

7. Panama – Manuel Noriega (1980s–1989)

• Cooperation: Noriega cooperated with U.S. intelligence for years, providing support for regional anti-communist efforts.

• Breakdown: As relations soured, the U.S. imposed sanctions and demanded he step down. Despite some gestures of compliance and negotiation, the U.S. invaded in 1989.

• Outcome: Noriega was captured, tried in the U.S., and removed from power.

• Note: This is a case of betrayal after years of cooperation rather than formal disarmament.

8. North Macedonia – Ohrid Framework Agreement (2001)

• Ceasefire Agreement: Signed with Albanian rebels under Western pressure.

• Result: The agreement prevented civil war and secured peace but weakened central authority.

• Instability: Though not toppled, the government became politically fragile for years.

9. Iran – Mossadegh Government (1953)

• Cooperation (Contextual): While not about weapons, Mossadegh’s government tried to negotiate with Britain and the U.S. over oil nationalization.

• Outcome: Despite seeking peaceful resolution, the CIA and MI6 orchestrated a coup, restoring the Shah.

• Relevance: This is often cited in Iran as a lesson against trusting Western promises, influencing its modern stance on foreign pressure.

10. Palestine – Oslo Accords (1993–2000)

• Ceasefire Agreement: PLO agreed to recognize Israel, renounce violence, and enter peace negotiations.

• Outcome: Israel continued expanding settlements; a second Intifada erupted.

• Collapse: The Palestinian Authority lost legitimacy among many Palestinians; Hamas eventually won elections in 2006 and took Gaza by force in 2007.

• Lesson: Ceasefire without a just peace eroded internal stability and divided Palestinian leadership.

11. South Africa – Nuclear Disarmament (1989–1994)

• Disarmament: The apartheid regime voluntarily dismantled its small nuclear arsenal before the transition to majority rule.

• Outcome: While this case did not involve foreign betrayal, some analysts suggest the regime only disarmed to ensure that post-apartheid leadership would not inherit the weapons.

• Not Toppled by Force, but still a rare case of peaceful transfer after disarmament—worth noting for contrast.

A War of Attrition is Israel's worst nightmare. It's a rich country, heavily dependent on investments, tech, tourism. Plus a chunk of the pampered population will flee. Since October 2023, it took the might of the American military and economy to keep Israel afloat against just the militias.
Iran and the Middle Eastern? They are much more resilient and used to hardships.

Israel has no strategic depth. It will buckle and fall. if Iranians were to increase size of there accurate barrage strikes and hit vital points of this small country.

He's literally trolling the IR now.
I have a hard time understanding why the IR does what they do.
I mean they had already tried this so-called "retaliation" once after Trump assassinated Gen. Soleimani. And not only it didn't work (as expected), but it made Trump move towards actual war with Iran.
There will no be more with Americans, last time he was perfect hired killer, accepted staged answer and thats it...now both events are staged, everything was moved out days before attacks, but Trump will always talk about amazing, tremendous, glorious attack like no one else....This was answer and thats it...whit this he could still take the Nobel...I mean that he will do anything to feed his gigantic ego with Nobel, even Obama has it, unfair...

He is simply making me crazy...One day I am sure that he is the biggest zionist in the WH ever, next day I think he is trolling zionists...

but I think that this is end because now pentagon will watch out and he will not be left free to make adventures, pressure will be from majority of high generals, near end of the mandate they simply boycotted his wild ideas...

patterns are same...cautiously still, because in the end, it`s about Trump...
Definitely Trump is unique kind of an idiot, bastard who is proudly bastard,...one and only madman...

Flight Operations update:

Qatar Airways
has announced a "temporary suspension" of flights and expects to "resume operations when the airspace re-opens".

Etihad Airways says it is re-routing several flights today and tomorrow due to airspace restrictions across the region. It has also warned of disruption and delays over the coming days.

Air Arabia says some flights may experience disruption "due to the escalating situation and airspace closures" across the region.

Kuwait Airways suspended departures from the country for the rest of the day. Kuwait has reopened its airspace now.

Pakistan International Airlines has cancelled flight operations from the country to Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Dubai.

EgyptAir says flights to and from Gulf cities have been suspended until the situation in the region stabilises.

Air India says it has ceased all operations to the Middle East, as well as "to and from the east coast of North America and Europe with immediate effect, until further notice". Inbound flights from North America are being diverted elsewhere.

IndiGo says its operations to and from Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, the UAE, and Georgia have been affected.

We need the Syrian border for that. But stupid IRI watched brotherly Turkey close that border when they installed Al Qaida there.
Well when you prevent the MB/Morsi types from taking power you make the it inevitable for AQ types to take over...Iran should have let that Alawite sectarian brother of theirs Asad fall and make inroads with MB as a pragmatic approach but you reap what you sowed...

And it becomes increasingly evident that high command is infiltrated and pulling every string to make sure Israel doesn’t suffer critical damage

Ironically Air India stopping flights may have made the Middle East safer....

Biggest question is will de escalation haopen between iran and israil as well? Next few hours will bring the answer as today isaril brought havoc in Theran with its air/drone attacks. There were reports earlier that Israil has sent msgs of emding the war via gcc nations but iran has shown no sign.

Lets see..

YOU are in no position to 'tell' anyone about anything.

Those places that we bombed? For the next three yrs, all we have to do is occasionally launch a couple of cruise missiles at them and that will be enough to keep Iran from doing any kind of recovery. YOU may think three yrs is short, but in the real world, the longer something, a car or a building, sits idle, the more difficult it is to revive them. Essentially, those sites are now useless for Iran for at least three yrs, Trump's current presidential term. Then Iran will have to contend with the possibility that the US will have either Vance or Rubio as next president.

Can Iran scout for another underground uranium enrichment site? Of course, but that will take yrs as well, and probably into either a Vance or Rubio presidency. That is just for scout, not yet development and building, and that is more yrs and money.

Really...YOU have no idea as to the scale of what Iran lost.
My friend actually you or anyone in the USA are in no position to "tell" anyone anything. Israelis have your balls firmly in their hands and anytime they want something all they have to do is squeeze your balls and you will run to do their bidding like a whore, period. If you think otherwise you are the most stupid person in the world. And by the way the Israelis have their dicks stuck in the american mouth, right down your throat so whatever you say or type will be just "sperming", pardon my jargon.
