Jet fighters alone won't perform well. You need a full air dominance package that includes other key pieces like AWACS and EW. Russian jets don't perform well over Ukrainian sky largely because of the lack of AWACS and EW. US and Israel air forces perform better because of the extensive monitoring and EW suppression capability.

I still dont understand why Russia does not buy AWACs from China. The Russians have far more pride, than common sense sometimes!

I doubt Iran will ask for J-10C. For one, it will estrange Russia, which just supplied Iran with Su-35. For two, it would be too ostentatious, given the current geopolitical atmosphere. Chinese don't like to be so "impolite" as to stick it in US' face.

Russia has not supplied any Su-35s so far at all..

Iran’s planners have a serious problem which requires their immediate attention. A country cannot survive without a modern and efficient Airforce.

Pakistan can manufacture them for China under contract, and China can "sell" them to Iran. That is how the Myanmar deal was done.

No, plain and simple ... Pakistan CANNOT! (since the last reply was regarding J-10C fighters!)

Russia never delivered any planes, has inferior products, and has openly saod they will not support Iran against "Israel."

Current the ONLY production line is in Pakistan

And although we are now making the transition into taking full ownership of the JF17 platform including production of as much as we can inside Pakistan apart from the engine, currently it's still a Joint venture with China


Any sale to Iran could be made inside Pakistan for a contract from China, we then deliver to China who subsequently supplies to Iran, exactly the same as with Myanmar


Iran needs the J10 on its western front but Iran is a BIG state
So the JF17 is perfect to cover cities, ports, borders with Afghanistan and Azerbaijan, and provide cover for nuclear, missile and manufacturing sites



Iran has also the opportunity to make its own weapons that can be integrated onto the JF17

I think some officials were spending the money to enjoy the "fast life" instead of investing in defence of the nation. They didn't expect sudden surprise attack by the enemy, so they played with the lifes and blood of Iranians.

It's hard to believe that they didn't believe the attack was imminent after all the warnings that they had received from Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
But then again, these idiots were sleeping in their apartments. So, you can never know.

The context was JF17Cs, since for Mynmar It was FC-1 Block IIs that were supplied..

I truly believe that they did not expect the Israeli attack because it was still under negotiation, this was even said by an Iranian military authority on a TV channel, they were only expecting an attack after the negotiations, so they were caught by surprise. Iran should have been on alert and maintained readiness, it was more than evident that an attack would occur in the first half of 2025.
