Iran Plans to Buy Chinese J-10C Instead of Russian Su-35

No country is impenetrable. Hence, that should not be the goal either.
But the thinking of some here is that by buying J-10C/Su-35S and even J-35A/Su-57 the problems will be solved and IAF will be grounded on the ground, which is not true.

16 pages for fake news.

Chinese are too scared to sell such important weaponry. They won't risk American sanctions.

Uncle Sam allows useless stuff like cheap oil and export of household items. But try something with these advanced weapons.... they will be on your doorstep.

Same goes with the Russians. Both of them dropped the mullahs hard.

The Russians are actually worse... since IR prostituted itself so hard their betrayal is unforgiveable

The last confirmed and completed major arms deal from Russia to Iran was in the 1990s to early 2000s, involving jets, tanks, submarines, and air defenses — a broad military package.
Since then, only small-scale or single-system deliveries have happened (like the S-300 in 2016), and no recent large packages have been confirmed as delivered.

Irans needs a survivable platform that can get up close in contested area to launch missiles. Why? because they need to get up close to get a weapon grade lock on stealth aircraft backed up with advanced EW. Sometimes just relying on awac is not enough to guide the missiles in such complex EW and stealth environment. Iran should have thought about it a decade ago going to be a struggle catch up now.
Perhaps the FH-97A controlled from the J-10CE or from the ground, could be a viable platform that Iran can procure/build in bulk to control their air space.

If they think this way, they are wrong.

What Iran needs, is to swallow the bitter pill and recognise that its air force is dead. And when the challenge is staring down and water is already up the neck, there is no time to resurrect. They need at least 5 years to be able to secure their skies on their own. Only acquisition of jets wont do, they need to modernise their bases to house such 4.5 gen aircraft and ensuring their safety on ground, they need new radars, air defences, AWACS, air refuelers for sustain CAPs during hostilities (Iran is a huge land mass). Plus training for personal on all these force multipliers. Time is of the essence, and Iran is already out of time.

While Iran rebuild its airforce, there is no option for them but to come to some sort of alliance with Pakistan and China (have to ditch India completely) in safe guarding Iranian aerial frontiers. That obviously means PAF/PLAAF aerial assets flying across Iranian airspace at the time when its needed, as deterrence. In return, Iran could offer free energy guarantee for next couple of decades to Pakistan and water tight assurity that India will be ditched once and for all.

Iran knows very well there air force is dead. But no one is willing to sell the aircraft. Don t you think they contacted Pakistan for JF17 ? ...yes they did but due to US pressure, they refused to sell.
Same applies, when Pak tried to buy Turkish helicopter, US refused 3rd party clearance to Pakistan.

We are keen to understand how many Indians have what level of access to your systems and network infrastructure. What intelligence sharing agreements do you have? What is baked into the trade deal with India?

There will be rules of engagement. This won't be a one way street.

No one is willing to sell, exactly. The Zionist lobby is 24/7 active tracking any transfer of weapons. Even oil that stored for 6 months off the coast of Malaysia and Singapore is being carefully watched.

As long there are mullahs in Iran there will be no arms deal. Unless there are major foreign policy changes which i doubt.

Iran wanted to ride all the boats. And that is the problem they have, and now they are dealing with the consequences. Their airforce was already dead before these hostilities. States do not work like that when one service of the armed forces is completely in ruins. You beg, you steal, you do whatever it takes. After all, its about national security.

Pakistan of course cannot just sell Jf17 without Iran coming into a formal alliance. Unfortunately Iran carries a lot of baggage with it, so its just not the matter of financial transaction. They have to offer much more then just cash. I have already outlined ditching of India, and free energy guarantees (oil and gas) for next couple of decades.

And, its in our national interest that Iranian airspace is secured. Israeli F35 flying over Tehran is just too close for comfort for us and we shouldn't be sleeping over it.

I dont understand why pakistani folks here say that iran ditches india completely? how can you present such a condition to any country? instead all pakistan and china needs from iran is that they can do trade but pak and china security and defense must not be compromised. China can help iran and defending their air space and china in return can demand a gas pipeline going through pakistan. Pak can also get gas this way

Sorry to burst the bubble but there is ZERO proof of China willing to sell these to Iran. There is a lot that needs to happen first in Iran before this scenario even becomes viable. The security situation in Iran is still dire.

It is not just a question of Iran buying new planes.

For many years Iran has focused on it's missile force and arming it's proxies, to the detriment of the Iranian air force.

This will take a very long time to overcome.

As posters have pointed out, PAF developed a "system of systems" over many years with the help of China and Europe. Real inetgration with all it's assets, close Chinese help with sat/cyber warfare.

Additionally PAF had built up a hardcore of pilots, engineers, warfare specialists, many of whom came from 4th Gen/F-16 background

Exposure to advanced equipment (AESA, PL-15, AMRAAM) and domestic manufactruing of own jets

A dedicated CCS/Combat school for advanced training in addition to training against F-15s, Mirage 2000S, Rafales and Typhoons with our allies

An aggressive air superiority "culture", that, right or wrong, hero worshipped the fighter pilot, both within the armed forces and in civil society

All of the above are hallmarks of modern western air forces (and increasingly Chinese too in some aspects and more in addition when it comes to 5th gen). Not saying Iran cannot get there, the pre 1979 air force was formidable, that that took 10-15 years to finesse.

Iran has a long way to go ahead of just buying new planes.

In 2019, Iran stored 3.4 million tons of oil in Chinese ports that don't care about US and Israeli threats because of the US global port ban and tracking by Zionist organizations. The oil was stored for six years at a cost of $450 million. But Iran has still not paid the high storage costs, causing the Chinese port company that helped Iran to face bankruptcy and liquidation. Some of the Iranian government's behaviors have really seriously hurt the Chinese people's perception of Iran.

Maray bhai india has deeply ingressed into every sphere of Iranian life and all this while being a secret conduit for isreal.
Isreal was able to target iraninan strategic infrastructure and kill Iranian officials with ease, due to the deep infiltration by the bindians on behalf isreal.
They bindians built software for iran while leaving backdoor entry point wounrable to attack so as to access computer system/networks or encrypted data that bypasses the system's customary security mechanisms. Disabling the whole iraninan sys, so much so that they had to disable all internet traffic inside iran.

So iran needs to understand bindia has burnt all its boats n aa clear as day light is standing firm with isreal.
