Z-10 ME/P deliveries Updates: Pakistan Army Aviation.

larger ammunition magazine size, new intake filtration systems, and new missile approach warning system (MAWS), more powerful WZ-9C turboshaft with 1,200 kW (1,600 shp) power, new infrared signature-reducing engine exhaust nozzle, appliqué graphene-based armor plates, etc. The ME is completely different beast then the original.
I'm not too familiar with helicopters, how would you compare it to the American counterpart?

It's comparable to the Viper maybe not as good as Apache but there's no real point in making 1 to 1 comparisons for Attack helicopters.

Makes no sense.

Pakistan wanted 3 different attack helicopters from 3 different countries in large numbers all at the same time and couldn't even get 1 from 1 country.

American AH-1Z - US refused.
Turkish T129 ATAC - US denied.
Chinese Z-10 ME - Not good enough.

Instead, Pakistan successfully acquired 4 Mi-35Ms in 2018 from Russia without any issues.

There's no point in trying to make sense of that MI-35 purchase,

Here's the timeline

Pakistan wants Vipers = doesn't happen

Pakistan trials other helicopters

Z-10 fails
ATAK wins

Pakistan wants to purchase ATAK's but is denied the export of engines while this is happening the Z-10ME is being worked on with recommendations from Pakistani trials, eventually Pakistan chooses Z-10ME

They ordered 20 from Russia but after 4 delivered cancelled the order

Apparently. No official confirmation as yet.

Gunship in war now face more threats and challenges, but Pakistan's procurement of any gunship helicopter is not tied only for any future anti armour war, but in my opinion more pressing need come for anti terrorism operations in sub conventional operations.
z 10, when operational, will not be deployed on the western flank, z 10 when deployed....primarily in the anti-armor role.
all/ most of the cobras will be deployed to cover the western flank. This along with drones is more then enough fire power to take care of the insurgents.
Considering the fact that the whole WOT was fought by PA with less then a full sqd of cobras, which was rotated in and out after every few months......on the recommendations of the "shrink"

This is what I was thinking.

Surely the TTP pose no great threat that we need advanced capabilities of Z-10 for it.

Cobras are more than enough to do the job...almost.

Except those cobras are 45 years old and need to be replaced.
