Trump threatens 100% tariffs on BRICS nations over US dollar replacement plans

Basically I am worried with Gov plan to force our SOE, Garuda Indonesia Airline, to buy many Boeing planes, could be around 30 planes. This could destroy our airline as Boeing planes seem unreliable

I also oppose any attemp to buy F15 EX. Better focusing on KF21/ IFX program
Your government doesn't agree with you. Hartarto will cut some sort of deal and the Boeing order will be part of it.

You have misjudged Trump's purpose. This group of people wants to rebuild the US industrial chain. The whole US is very anxious about this. They are not soft on Japan and South Korea either.
Targeting China is just an excuse. You should know that 25% of the products in the US military-industrial system are provided by Japan and South Korea. Trump's tariff war, regardless of the enemy or ourselves, as long as there is a trade deficit, he will fight. Didn't NATO also pay first and increase defense spending to 5%.
The only thing this person cares about is the US itself.
I was talking of transshipment. Obviously the MAGA considers everything China, even 1% or atomic particles in a product as transshipment.
look, Vietnam is a developing country we have nothing to give for free. we are neutral. Trump can do America first, Xi China first, we don´t care of.
as for Japan and Korea, I think they can take care of themselves.

We have contract to buy many Black Hawk heli, not yet effective contract

With new development, I would say good riddance to Black Hawk helli inshaAllah. Better choosing Airbus Helli that has cooperation with Indonesian Aerospace as the heli main supply chain outside Spain (Caracal/ H22M)

No deal means no US buy

That is that simple. We will likely tighten our protectionist policy as well

With Trump policy, trade will likely change. We dont rely too much on US trade and we have just made deal for FTA with Europe. We can export material, steel, etc to Europe more, Europe will assembly it and ship to US

Wait till Aug 1. There is still time to make a deal.

If, I mean if. If, by August 1, there is still no agreement between any country and the United States. What do you MAGA's think Trump will do?

Then, Trump will make another extension for negotiations, then another.. until his term ends, just like Tik Tok pending deal. That's how TACO does things, Trump and MAGA always win though, the world is familiar now.

As it turns out, Trump's ultimate goal is to increase tariffs on all imports. In other words, raise taxes on all Americans.
That lunatic actually believes tariffs will replace the income tax as biggest source of govt revenue.

You reminded me.

ByteDance just held a press conference and made it clear that TikTok will not be sold and that all acquisition rumors are all false.

Trump lied again.

This is only general things. Trump can make exception like its tarrift at 200 % for solar panel from Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam

Trump also make fix tarrif for steel, automotive for around 25 % for whole world, including Europe

Next Pharma will likely be the target, just wait....

You forgot UK 10% and Vietnam 20%. EU will also likely be 10% and so will Japan and South Korea. India and Pakistan will likely be somewhere between 10% and 20%. So, America does want to trade with the world, but on its terms. Even Chinese client states are welcome.

With higher tarrif for Trump, whole countries, particularly with higher tarrift rate will likely increase its protection to all import. Malaysia just get 25 % but now using anti dumping policy to tax more steel from Indonesia, China, etc

See, protectionism will likely getting more boost

Small country ( small market ) and those who relies on trade will likely those who will get the most negative effect

The effect will be for every body, and the most vulnerable will likely those I mentioned

1. If products containing 1% of Chinese products are considered transshipment, you Vietnamese people should plant cotton all over the country;
2. The 40% transshipment tariff does not only apply to China. It also applies to non-Vietnamese high-tech companies in Vietnam. For example: Samsung. Trump has repeatedly asked Samsung mobile phones to be produced in the United States, otherwise they will be subject to a 25% tariff (public information can be checked). So, will Trump give a 20% tariff on Samsung mobile phones produced in Vietnam? There is no doubt that it will be handled at 40% in order to force Samsung to move its factory to the United States. Non-Vietnamese high-tech companies in Vietnam will face this fate.
3. In Trump's definition, he will require all high-tech and high-value-added processing industries to move to the United States, on the one hand to improve the soundness of the US industry, and on the other hand to increase the employment rate of American workers. Tariffs are just a means.
4. So. What are you Vietnamese happy about? Trump may tell you during the negotiations not to worry, this is only about China. But in actual operation, 40% will generally apply to all non-Vietnamese high-tech companies in Vietnam. Do you really think this is aimed at the Chinese?
5. If, after a year or less, Trump finds that the trade deficit between Vietnam and the United States has not been reduced or his industrial transfer goals have not been achieved, he will tear up the agreement reached with Vietnam and re-impose tariffs on Vietnam.
We'll see. Poor silly kid.
