Pakistan UAVs News & Discussions

what is the category of shahpar 3? does it come under MALE? or HALE? and due to weapons attached can we say it is UCAV?

Apology in advance if the question seems stupid. I feel no shame in asking when i dont know much about a thing

No harm in asking, I'd say it's a MALE UCAV similar in category and performance to Chinese WL-2 and CH-4 platforms (given its payload and cruising altitude)

Good article here if you want to read more:

Pakistani armed forces are inducting the GIDS-manufactured Sarkash kamikaze loitering munitions in large numbers.
Sarkash is a Pakistani-developed, loitering munition or "suicide drone" designed for precision strikes against high-value targets. It's a tactical munition, capable of being launched by infantry and integrating Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and strike capabilities. The system is designed for mass production and can be deployed from various platforms, including ground, naval, and remote locations.
Sarkash drones are designed to autonomously locate, track, and destroy targets like radar arrays, artillery batteries, and forward command posts.

Real? Is the propulsion local?

Uhm ... Sarkash doesn't even exist anymore. The LM has been renamed to Sarfirosh.

Wrong....they r two diff types, diff specifications to meet diff objevtives

Sarkash: Tactical ISR-Strike Fusion, Built to Swarm

Sarfarosh: Strategic Suppression from a Thousand Kilometers Out

Idk where that information is coming from ... But there is no such info in public domain that indicates that both are different.
GIDS unveiled its Sarkash-1 LM on IDEAS 2024 and then later changed its name to Sarfirosh. The specs of both are literally the same. On top of that there was no EO/IR sensor shown on Sarkash-1 model to indicate any possible ISR role.
So I'm fairly sure that article is not true at all.

From various sources (don't know if this is true)

Their is a 50kg warhead version which has a range of 1000km that is the sarkash 1

And a larger warhead version I think 120kg warhead with a range of 700km which they have called the Sarfirosh

But this is just general internet hearsay at the moment

These drones are superb and Pakistan army is very happy with them

They are going to Induct in massive numbers so they can swarm enemy sites

They can be mass launched from multiple sites

These types of drones are like a cheaper cruise missile

In hope they can make version of these drones with 1500km+ ranges

Does anyone know if their is a SEA VERSION of this coming???

Sea drones have the ability to swarm ships and eat up interceptors and air defences of ships and even some could slip though and hit targets causing damage

If we can sort out a hypersonic or ballistic anti ship missile with a range of 1500km
Mixed with our existing extensive anti ship missiles and a sea drones version of this that could swarm ships

Even the U.S navy would have trouble

According to AM Malik (PAF, retired), Pakistan is projecting toward stealthy drones. And, the PAF is concentrating on the next-level of jamming the enemy data links. Employment of the un-manned platforms is to be at the equal footing to their manned counterparts (=asymmetric robotic warfare in the entire air-warfare spectrum [AWACS, CAP, A2A, A2G, DEAD, SEAD etc.] is at full throttle). Cooperation with Tukey is mentioned...

Shahpar 3 can be turned into the ever-evolving Akinji-class HALE platforms. What are the benefits?
  • You can make it hover at 55k feet+ regime on a 24/7 basis
  • You can put all sorts of sensors, ultra-long range radars (600km +), EW/EA etc. into it provided the engine power allows
  • You can also put long range A2A missiles into it
  • You can integrate multiple such platforms into a "distributed computational base" to have a 24/7 AD coverage as a part of the "kill web". Not to mention ultra secured comms with all sorts of other assess including a plethora of sats
  • You can transform it into the "first responder" to the enemy threats including all sorts of missiles
  • Etc.
