Sarcasm aside I actually like the motto "Nabha Sparsham Deeptam " Touch the Sky With Glory. It is part of the quote from the Bhagvad Gita 11:24 . Of course it's a religious slogan in keeping with India's brand of so called "secularism ".

A comparison:
The Pakistan Air Force motto's are both strictly secular,.

1. -The first official motto simply says "A symbol of pride for the nation" in English, and "Qoum Ka S Armaghan-e-Iftikhar" in Urdu,
2. - The second longer traditional motto is more inspiring and like the first strictly secular. It is a line in Persian quoted from a poem, by our national poet Iqbal. (Sahraast keh darya ast, tah bal-o-par-e maast," ) which means "Be it deserts or seas; all lie under our wings"

I prefer the traditional motto which has a much deeper philosophical context but I won't bother you with details of the reference.

To be fair many are cursed with same problem, either by budgets or culture they just focus on fighters.

In the case of smaller NATO countries it is not too bad. Czechia, Hungry, Belgium, Denmark can all just but small pools of fighter but they have huge pool of US and NATO assets like C-17s, AWACS, Rufuellers tec.

A great example of a country that gets this right and is this able to deliver more punch then its pure fighter size represents is Australia

Can you see how lob sided this is and how it effects the overall fighter force in terms of support? 1 Aussie fighter has much more support and is this much more effective then 1 similar IAF fighter

1 Bombardier - EW/Jamming
Around 100 medium/large UAV/UCAV
10 P-3C/ATR LRMPA

PAF & RAAF are heavily influenced by USAF tactics so no surprise there... there is high degree of focus on operations , maintenance and logistics.

If I recall reading from India today in a 1997 or 1996 article IAF squadrons have a low combat availability ratio .. with as low as 30% for Mig series units to 50% for Mirages.. updated open source information also suggest Su-30 do not fair better to about 55%

to honest a long slug out war india would probably win ... but in reality the punishment PAF gave was too much for the Indians to digest and then they threw in the towel.
