Sarcasm aside I actually like the motto "Nabha Sparsham Deeptam " Touch the Sky With Glory. It is part of the quote from the Bhagvad Gita 11:24 . Of course it's a religious slogan in keeping with India's brand of so called "secularism ".
A comparison:
The Pakistan Air Force motto's are both strictly secular,.
I prefer the traditional motto which has a much deeper philosophical context but I won't bother you with details of the reference.
- -The first official motto simply says "A symbol of pride for the nation" in English, and "Qoum Ka S Armaghan-e-Iftikhar" in Urdu,
- - The second longer traditional motto is more inspiring and like the first strictly secular. It is a line in Persian quoted from a poem, by our national poet Iqbal. (Sahraast keh darya ast, tah bal-o-par-e maast," ) which means "Be it deserts or seas; all lie under our wings"
How is "Nabha Sparsham Deeptam" a religious slogan ?
Which part is "religious" ? "Sky" , "touch" or "Glory" ?
