Pakistan Space Related News & Discussions

Pakistan has terribly missed opportunities despite having the foundation, organisations and technical setup. Pakistan is only country in the planet that has Ballistic missiles with ranges exceeding 2000 KMs and not having a space rocket program. Its unimaginable why our govts / establishment missed this.

Those IRBMs can be repurposed with some modifications for low earth orbit deliveries. In one of interviews Dr.A.Q khan was asked, whether Pakistan can build its own space rockets, he said we have all the technology, its about govt decision, they have to make a decision. He said these BMs can be modified, instead of warhead weapon we will have satellite payload and target instead of Calcutta it would be in the space. Those were his words. I also remember Musharraf (when he was in power), saying that we will make up for lost time, but nothing was done. Its been 20 more years by successive incompetent govts and nothing was done in such a critical field.

We can wait till the inevitable capitulation of the Arabs to Israel .We can and SHOULD follow suit. After that we are free to make our own choices. We have no direct quarrel with Israel.

Meanwhile we should preserve the 1950's vintage rocket motor designs. Russia still uses them to ride to the International Space Station.
I think Pakistan has liquid oxygen manufacturing units also.

Just a thought
I think Arabs have adapted to living with israel and there is not much more to it than that.Pakistan should ruthlessly focus on its own interest and not fight lost wars of the past however tragic it may be.Yeah agreed with you if we have the money we should definitely go ahead with it.

Pakistan should be able to launch its own small satellites.
North Korea is able to do it. North Korean reconnaissance satellite Malligyong-1 was successfully placed into orbit in November 2023. The earlier launch of the North Korea's first satellite, Kwangmyŏngsŏng-1, in 1998 is not considered successful as the satellite had very poor capabilities.

A few of Pakistan's very early liquid fuel ballistic missiles were based on North Korean ( actually copied ex-Soviet) rocket technology,
North Korea has been using these types of (modified) missiles/rockets for its satellite launches. Pakistan should be able to launch its own military grade satellites as i5 has full access to the liquid fuel rocket motors and rocket shell technology.
Its all down to money. If irs cheaper to launch from.elsewhere , why not.

How can a genocide and the potential to commit more genocide be considered as : "adapted with living with Israel"?

it's about developing domestic capabilities, it might not be cheaper to launch from here today but it will be in 10 years.

Earned your ego satisfaction for the day then?
It's not about ego...

The logic is simple: if someone claims that A is using B country’s rocket and independently controlling the satellite launch, that would be false. After the launched, it's controlled by the ownership company of the settelite. I just pointed that fundamentally incorrect tittle. That's it.

Example the below one - if I said that india is going to launched - I could have false statement as well.

GSAT-11 satellite to be launched from French Guiana on Dec 5

Year - 2018.

In a major step forward for Pakistan’s space program, SUPARCO is set to launch a state-of-the-art remote sensing satellite on July 31 . More in this report…

Civilian program

A remote sensing satellite is an orbiting satellite equipped with sensors that collect data about the Earth's surface from a distance. These satellites are used to monitor various aspects of the Earth, such as vegetation, water bodies, and urban areas, providing valuable data for environmental monitoring, disaster management, and resource management.

I'm no rocket scientist but it shouldn't be difficult theoretically for Pakistan to design an SLV, it's more of a priority & funding thing by the leadership. It doesn't seem like a big hurdle to get a functional one.
You need telemetry and tracking stations, SLVs are not easy as it requires advanced guidance system and should carry at least a few hundred kilos. It should have a staging system you lift off with solid fueled motor then seperate that stage accurately to the second stage and more. And most importantly you need dual use technology that is slightly hard to come by due to MTCR. I don't know if aerospace engineering is a thing in there but you need a constant stream of engineers since most of them are going to fly off to the US

In China, remote sensing satellites are usually dual-use satellites. They are usually launched in the name of the civilian field, but in actual operation, the military will be involved in many affairs.
The optoelectronic reconnaissance satellites that are very common in the military are also a type of remote sensing satellite.
