Egyptian Armed Forces

It was impossible that Egypt signs the second contract if there were no Meteor included..maybe in limited numbers now..but that opens the door to buying more if desired or needed.. now even the US has sold the Aim 120 to Egypt..that alone nullifies the pessimism about the Meteor..and they have nothing to gain in this context since they know that Egypt has secured the PL-15 from China..
If your referring to the amraams that are coming along with the nasams deal then I’m assuming that the variant of the amraam used in that surface to air system is only a specific model and isn’t compatible with being integrated into f16 aircrafts. Maybe this is my mind playing tricks on me since we’re so use to being denied weaponry and equipment like that. Maybe I’m coping, who knows, I’m open to it. But it should also be known that the f16s have to be jailbroken from their kill-switch mechanism if they’re in fact compatible with falcon jets. Idk how in the world you’d be able to do that. Perhaps Chinese scientists know a thing or two about that since j10c is similar to the f16 but utilizes different source codes and stores equipment differently with other variations to consider.

A rafale with no meteors is beyond disgraceful and a shame to the international free weapons market.

Exactly! Egypt should not have bought any fighter jets without long range BVRs. Meteor though a generation behind chinese AESA equipped PL-15s still is a good BVR missile and gives Rafale a chance in modern warfare.

One thing is clear that US and Europe will never give Egypt latest weaponary. They only sell after evaluating that Israel's supremacy will not be challenged in anyways. Egypt must move away from US & EU and only then it can have lethal / advance capabilities.

Well hold on now tiger, SC stated that meteors were included with the second deal and if that wasn’t the case then they wouldn’t have signed it, that’s why they were juggling around with the eurofighter typhoon as well, and if not then just go for more j10s. Why WOULD Egypt order a second batch without meteors??? My guess is that it’s a bit of both. They def do have some but only a finite amount. Which can also explain why Egypt shifted towards Chinese tech. It’s one of those once you’ve got them you’ll never get them again type of situation

Egypt wants the PL-15 with ToT..
And for the Aim included in the Nasam's deal with the US only the ER version is ground to air dedicated..the rest is air to air and can be used in Nasam in ground to air too..

And Egyptian officials are now visiting their Pakistani counterparts holding deep talks and have vowed to expand in military ties. Looks like Egypt is going full force in getting all the intel on how Chinese made weapons operate, and how the Pakistanis utilized them tactically with their chain link system, and how they used that system

The Russians criticized Egypt's announcement of the defects of the SU-35 fighters, and the Russian side is forgetting that the disputes date back a long time, starting with the downing of Egyptian MIG-29M aircraft during training, which the Russians are replacing. The Egyptians then conducted training exercises with their maximum-range MIG-29M fighters in August 2020. The Egyptians revealed that the aircraft's range was 30% shorter than the Russians announced. The Russians attributed this to the hot weather. This joins the same complaint about the SU-35 fighters, which also relates to their engines, which consume a lot of fuel, one of their shortcomings. One of the countries that acquired the same two fighters never dared to announce the modest performance of these fighters, and even the AESA radar being tested does not exceed a range of 220 kilometers, instead of the usual 260-280 kilometers. The best solution for the Egyptian MIG-29M fighters is to integrate the Rafale M88 engine, which provides a weight reduction of 250 kilograms per engine. In the event of integration, which increases fuel capacity, in addition to the French engine's fuel consumption being much lower than that of the RD-33 MK3 engines, which increases the aircraft's lateral range. In November 2024, the Russians announced that they would develop an 11-ton engine as a replacement for the RD-33 engine. In fact, this will take years for the Russians to reach the level they aspire to. Therefore, Russian products are evaluated based on operational specifications, not the unrealistic specifications announced by the Russians.

On Wednesday, July 30th, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi received Italian Defense Minister Guido Krossito in Cairo, where the two sides discussed ways to enhance military cooperation between the two countries, in addition to developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip, according to a statement issued by the presidency of the Egyptian Republic.

The Egyptian Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Abdel Majid Saqr, participated in the meeting, where the meeting dealt with "ways to enhance cooperation between Egypt and Italy in various fields, especially in the military and security fields", in light of the growing strategic relations between the two countries at the two and regional levels.

The meeting also touched on the file of illegal immigration, where the Italian minister expressed his country's appreciation for the Egyptian efforts that have continued since 2016 to reduce the launch of irregular migrants from the Egyptian coast towards Europe, which contributed to significantly reducing immigration flows towards Italy.

Regarding the escalating crisis in the Gaza Strip, the two parties stressed "the need to reach an immediate ceasefire, and the urgent action to end the human suffering experienced by the residents of the Strip, as well as the importance of intensifying efforts to secure the release of hostages and detainees, and start the reconstruction process."

These consultations come within the framework of intense Egyptian diplomatic moves, as Cairo plays a pivotal role alongside Qatar and the United States in mediation between Israel and Hamas, in an effort to reach a truce agreement that ends the worsening conflict and reduces the humanitarian catastrophe that the sector has witnessed for months.

A huge armament deal between Egypt and Italy exceeding 10 billion euros?

In light of increasing but unconfirmed indicators, military and media circles are circulating information about a huge armament deal between Egypt and Italy, which may exceed 10 billion euros, and aims - if completed - to make a qualitative shift in the capabilities of the Egyptian navy and air forces.

The deal includes six frigates of the "Freem Bergamini", along with twenty-four fighters, "Eurofighter Typhoon", and twenty Fire of "Flac 2" missiles, which are expected to manufacture in the Alexandria marine arsenal. The deal also includes a number of planes designated for training and light-mild attack from the Irmaki M-346, in addition to a military satellite, in addition to a military satellite, in addition to a military satellite For surveillance and monitoring purposes, another deal includes more than twenty AW149 helicopters, dedicated to transportation and support services.

There are those who see that this deal came as a reaction to the stumbling of some deals with the French side, but the facts indicate that negotiating this system of contracts dates back to 2014, that is, they were taking place in parallel with the French deals, most of which were already implemented. Accordingly, this deal represents an extension of a long path of military modernization, no improvised step.

In the event that this deal is implemented within three to five years, the Egyptian naval fleet will be qualified to move from just a coastal force to a marine force of deep water, which will enable Egypt to carry out marine tasks in the remote oceans and seas, and may qualify it in the future to possess a large aircraft carrier. Such pregnant women always require the support of frigates and support ships that accompany her in their combat missions, which will provide this new system of naval pieces. Certainly, this deal will be accompanied by other deals related to joint industrialization within Egypt, which enhances the state's capabilities in the field of local military manufacturing.

As for the air force, the joining of European Typhoon fighters will add a new dimension to its combat capabilities. Egypt has an unparalleled air form that brings together Western and Eastern schools, starting from American F-16s and French Fraal, through the Russian Mig-29, and ending with European timing. With the possibilities of joining new Chinese fighters, including the modern Ghinetic G-35, Egypt will be the only country in the world that collects this amount of diversity in its air fleet, which makes it difficult for any opponent to predict the pattern of attack or Egyptian defense, due to the variation of the characteristics and specifications of these aircraft. Each plane has its advantages, its radar imprint, its range and operational height, which gives the Egyptian Air Force great flexibility in planning and implementation. For example, the Rafale is ideal for tasks near the ground, while Typhoon excels in tasks over high altitudes.

While Egypt is yet to display its Rafales carrying Meteor missiles, the acquisition has already been confirmed by multiple reliable sources including the Egyptian Presidency. Egypt is reportedly acquiring up to 250 missiles.

Most recently, China is said to have offered HD-1/A cruise missiles to the Egyptian armed forces in air-to-ground and surface-to-surface configurations, enabling a variety of Egyptian fighters including the Rafale to deploy long range supersonic cruise missiles.

Egypt's secret Russian weapons, according to RT's anonymous sources, include an integrated air defense network anchored by the S-300 missile system, 9K720 Iskander SRBMs and the K-300P Bastion-P mobile coastal defense missile system.

I get what your saying about mixed variations of aircraft for utilization of specific strengths while mitigating weaknesses, but tbh if you ask me I don’t really see a reason for the typhoon to join the eaf since they should just stock on j10s while rafales execute multirole missions. I read up on an article about the nasams deal and even though you’ve stated only the r variant of the amraam will be given to Egypt the article I read specifically states the amraam 120 c8 would be delivered as part of the packaged deal, it’s also quite interesting too since the article claims that any amraam can find its way on f16s if they’re past the block 25 model. Iaf uses the amraam d which is still superior to what the article claims what Egypt will be getting with the c8 variant, but it served with the iaf for a long time before the d variant took its place, thus confirming how stout and great the aim 120 c8 is. If possible they could see fitting on f16s to be used against say nations like Ethiopia and its obsolete air force of legacy Soviet su-27s. Eaf operates block 40 and block 52 models, why they don’t upgrade all of them to block 52 mods is beyond me. I personally say just stick with getting even more berghaminis along with the trainercrafts to churn out competent pilots. Eaf wants to keep their MiGs until perhaps 2050 so idk why they don’t upgrade them to the 35 model with the zhuk radar. I get Russias at war now but at least have future plans for the upgrading to be there.
