US to soon initiate Military support to Pakistan along with bi-lateral Trade growth, the Economist report

The US can revisit its weapon usage terms for a friendly country in view of a developing situation. For example: Ukraine can use American weapons in defensive capacity at will. However, Ukraine needs American permission to use American weapons to attack Russian forces inside Russian mainland. The US granted permission to Ukraine in 2024.

The PAF can use F-16 in defensive capacity. However, if the PAF wants to use F-16 in offensive capacity or to attack Indian forces inside Indian mainland then American permission is needed. The PAF used F-16 to attack the IAF across the border during Operation Swift Retort in 2019. Therefore, it depends on the situation.

To the US, both Pakistan and India have some value. The US is very likely to attempt to prevent war between both. Therefore, it is up in the air about F-16 usage. There are possibilities in view of a developing situation. However, war is undesired consideration by default. It may not get to the point where Ukraine and Russia find themselves, hopefully never.
Thank you

This is exactly my point was but I decided not to engage in further discussion. Pakistan was never forbidden to use F-16s for defensive purposes but even the upgrade package of 397 million USD comes with the condition of not using F-16s in offensive operations against India. This clause is just on paper to please Indians as Pakistan has always used F-16s in most engagements against India

@RajaBaja

Raja Babu,

Can you give us some details of the valuations-mineral wise. In Metric Tonnes and USD/MT.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

By your previous questions, you seem like a smart guy. Not sure if this question even passes common sense.

What the US firms, their scientists, geologists and Pakistani counter parts have done in terms of exploration, scans, along with digging and sample testing, are considered a national secret. If it wasn't, I am more than SURE Barrick Gold's CEO would've put it out there to increase their share price, like they do in the US / Canada / Africa discoveries. But the only thing they've put out there is estimated value.

I'd suggest we wait until the work starts, its not too far in the future and we'll all get ALL the answers. Lastly, if ANYONE had access to that data, they would be total idiots to share it on some online forum and that's called treason o_O

Gaza and Iran!
When Israel attacked Iran a few months ago, Indians were not clearly condemning that. Pakistan couldn't do much but at least took a very strong diplomatic stand, which was a stark contrast with India's lukewarm 'lets have peace' blah blah. I have seen even some Indian analysts ashamed of India's stands on Gaza and Iran.
Pakistan was celebrated in the Iranian parliament.

Enough said on that one

India's too late to Gaza, it will just seem like vulgar opportunism

You can't get rid of your mesnapun ... don't throw raja sahib into googling frenzy .

Thank you. I've not had to google yet, thank God! I don't speak on issues where I don't have a true grasp or direct knowledge. Its better to stay silent than look dumb.

What we know so far.....
1. Lunch
2. Trump thinks there's oil in them thar hills
3. Tariff 19%

Rest is just speculation.

Sir G, Gold, Copper, Oil reserves aren't speculation.

This is sort of official confirmation on what I've been telling you guys. This here is the United States treating Pakistan like an equal and respectable nations, with Government, Legislative, People to People and Business ties.

This is when two nations get into strategic agreements on defense or trade, etc. Our focus is trade and some defense will also be there. With such ties being built, F-16's and AH1Z's will easily come too. This is an OCEAN of change. Welcome to new Pakistan!

I hope I am not speaking too soon but our period of 20 years of humiliation is coming to an end.

Seems to be the case.

With the J-10Cs becoming the new tip of the spear for Pakistan, perhaps the US brought it up as a way to maintain balance, or at least some measure of influence...or perhaps Pakistan brought it up as a way to maintain its 70 or so F-16s from becoming obsolete.
The MLUs will be phased out,
Block-52s need to be kept relevant and perhaps additional numbers added to make up 2 squadrons.

Or that irrelevant Senate members are getting a free trip at the expense of Pakistani taxpayers. Most of these fellows will hang around roaming , eating , drinking and spending TA/DA money or visiting relatives.

Pakistan will never accept hegemony of baniya in south asia even on behalf of USA. Americans learned their lesson in Afghanistan. Humiliation was 2 way street for both USA and Pakistan.

How likely is it that Pakistan will get the Ozgur upgrades to try and maintain current numbers?

I know the Ozgur won't help fix the degraded airframes, but Turkiye does have experience in that regard, so perhaps Pakistan can get a package deal?

Highly unlikely - those upgrades are allowed by LM for Turkish vipers only.

The Economist published a comprehensive report yesterday. It talks about Pakistan's growing relationship with US. Both sides are working on expanding trade ties and the US is working on initiating Military equipment delivery to Pakistan to strengthen its' force's capability. This list has Military gear like Night Vision, Sniper Equipment, F-16's upgrade, BVR missiles, and unconfirmed negotiation on Cobras too.

This report is now on Pakistani media. Watched it on Duniya and Dawn news. The report should propagate to other media in a day or so. The Report starts with:

Pakistan’s army chief, could hardly have wished for more. For almost two years, he had been under fire at home over his meddling in politics. Wracked by debt and insurgent violence, his country had been sidelined in geopolitics as America and other rich countries courted India, Pakistan’s arch-rival. And yet there he was, enjoying a private lunch with Donald Trump in the White House on June 18th, just over a month after Pakistan’s brief conflict with India. Then, at the end of July, came further snubs for India: branding it a “dead economy”, Mr Trump imposed tariffs of 25% while hailing a new trade deal with Pakistan.

------ IF YOU DON'T HAVE A PAID ACCOUNT WITH ECONOMIS, READ BELOW A SUMMARY OF THE REPORT -------

British weekly The Economist has paid a strong tribute to Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, calling him the architect of a “diplomatic and strategic transformation” in the South Asian region.

A special article published on August 3, The Economist stated that Field Marshal Asim Munir is not only injecting new life into Pak-US relations but is also successfully maintaining balanced ties with China, the Middle East and Gulf countries.

The article pointed out that on June 18, Field Marshal Asim Munir held a private meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House in Washington, which has been described as the beginning of a diplomatic shift in the region.

Immediately after the meeting, the US imposed a 25% tariff on India and declared it a “dead economy”, while announcing a trade deal with Pakistan and imposing a relatively lower 19% tariff.

According to The Economist, the United States is working seriously on restoring defence, counter-terrorism cooperation, and trade ties with Pakistan, signalling a major shift in American policy in South Asia, China, and the Middle East.

According to the journal, American policymakers are reassessing India’s subversive activities and its role in the region.

American officials have also openly acknowledged Pakistan’s operations against Daesh, and the United States is considering providing Pakistan with armoured vehicles, night vision devices and other defence hardware.

The Economist stated that global diplomats and investors are in direct contact with the field marshal, while President Trump’s inner circle is keenly interested in investing in Pakistan’s crypto and mining sectors.

The magazine further wrote that Field Marshal Asim Munir’s popularity significantly increased after the recent conflict with India.

Despite India’s provocative actions, he responded promptly and effectively without succumbing to pressure – a move that has established him as a strong and decisive leader both within Pakistan and on the global stage.

The Economist’s article is a clear indication that under the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, Pakistan is no longer a pawn in geopolitical games but is emerging as an active and independent policy-making state on the global front.
