If, somehow, it does, it will be suicide for the U.S. military industry, as using military purchases as a tool to hold another nation's political will and foreign policy hostage. As we see in Europe now, it can result in less purchasing, more in-house investments, and a flood back to the Russian and Chinese arms with no strings attached.

My guess is after this fiasco, even if India and US come to a deal, the days of Indians buying US weapons are over.

Whole GE engine thing may well be canned, will India seriously want to depend on US for Tejas after this? No way

Benefit for Pakistan is that Tejas MK1A is a dead duck now anyway.

I suspect India will now go on its own or with Europe for Engines for MK2 and AMCA. This would effectively delay those programmes for another 10 years (so till 2040-2045)

Naturally now it will be SU-57 on the cards for them, which we all know is just about 4.5th Gen, and nowhere near 5th gen....
