It is not just Radar upgrade but entire electronics/software combo. Plus i doubt turkish radar would be any better since KLJ-7 is already optimized for JF-17 power/space requirements

situational awareness does not come from own radar alone. best situational awareness comes from other remote radars on the network.

KLJ-7A is also a GaN based radar. We have the source codes, we can integrate Turkish munitions also if need be. KLJ-7A works very well and is combat proven. Its supposed to be a local build soon, if not already being local built.
For export customers, if they want Murad, that's what they'll get.
It's time we finalize a core set of weapons and products, and build them locally. We can collaborate with China and Turkey as need be for advancements, but ALL our defense products should be built in Pakistan through TOT. No dependence on anyone.

Why I asked the question was that the smaller antenna area of the Murad 100-A AESA radar to fit inside the nosecone of the Akinci UCAV, and still provide a 200 km range for a fighter-sized target, is quite impressive.
Then one can imagine the range that would be on offer for the bigger antenna, more TRMs based Murad 110-A.
A fighter equipped with such a radar is likely to have better situational awareness and battlespace survivability compared to a fighter with KLJ-7A AESA.
Imagine a scenario where your primary battlespace management solution is eliminated or rendered ineffective. Then, in such a situation, the fighter can only depend on its radar and its peers connected via the Link-17.
Why not imagine a scenario in which the Link-17 is compromised? What then?

Everyone is focused on AESA vs PESA, GaN vs GaS, 200-300 KM range.
Although these are important aspects but what really matters is data processing power and speed at which onboard computers can run algorithms. And if Algorithms are coded up to best code writing standards.
Does engine generate enough power to sufficiently run those processors?
There are pulse doppler radars radars more powerful in processing compared to Hypebeast AESA

Both, JF-17 and J-10C's radars are GaN based! While, the radars of J-35 and J-20 use "Silicon Carbide" instead of Gallium Nitride. J-20 and J-35 radars are the most advanced in the world from a tech standpoint. Even the US is still using GaN in F-22 and F-35!
We can integrate whatever we want to with our Radars for OUR use. However, China and Turkiye are internally hostile towards each other. So we can't expose Chinese tech to Turkiye and Turkish tech to China.
The only way around this is that we buy weapons on TOT for all our major systems. Build locally and do whatever we want to. No dependency on any nation. Only collaborations for future advancements.
