Not just Pakistan or the Pakistani Establishment, EACH & EVERY Country of this world wants to have relations with the US, every human wants to have better relations with the US, most of the world wants to migrate to and live in the US; even blocks want good relations with the US. So, buddy, don't portray our effort as something that is undesired or unwanted. In this case, she was practically given up on by the establishment, because they wanted better ties with the US.
The only ones who started making noise were a bunch of NGOs, including international ones. This out pressure on the Pakistan civilian governments as well.
To this day, the establishment doesn't give a damn about Asfia Sidiqi, and would rather she just dies and everyone just forget about her, because despite everything they want to increase relations with the US.
As for Aafia Siddiq, I wonder why the US chose this 1 lady out of what 20 million females her age (I guess 30% adult female population of the 50% female population of the overall population of the country in 2001) to bring to the US and make an example out of. My gut says, she must have done something or that she must have been involved in something. It's not like the US would undertake the kind of effort just to get this 1 woman for no reason at all. And she got convicted by a US court, which makes her a criminal. So, next I wonder why we are wasting the kind of resources on 1 criminal and why not all criminals of Pakistani heritage all over the world?
