In PAF - GDP branch in general has a superiority complex over all other branches. Among the GDP race - Viper pilots have their own superiority complex and consider themselves as the best and most deserving for top tier appointments. However, the may events have surely dented this sense of superiority among viper pilots.

One of the many reasons current CAS is not favorite of officers from F-16 background. Infact, Sidhu shb have promoted and filled many key appointments at AHQ with people from Mirage background - Sidhu shb himself is from Mirage background.

It was the Viper community that built up tactics, manuals, procedures, tactical employment for Thunder and J-10 community. The training embarked on the Viper group is far more strenuous on average than the rest of the aircraft groups. The supposed rivalry for the F-16 group especially the seniors is unfortunately with other non related issues.......hence many in the service limit their info for celebration. The Viper community overall from day 1 has been a toxic environment, that is a PAF culture issue.

For example, some of the heroes and planners of Swift Retort are under house arrest and exile.
