Opinion: India Pakistan near conflict - Escalation management non-existent

Chinese foreign minister reportedly verbally spanked around Jai Shankar in their multiple meetings. Jay Shankar said that India wants to resolve border disputes and start a "strategic trade and national alliance" with China, its system under BRICS and wants to join the Chinese efforts in de-dolarization.

To which, the Chinese counter part told him per sources that India isn't trust worthy and that China will evaluate India on it's behavior after some years. And that if India is serious about any strategic location relationship, they have to make peace in the region, especially with Pakistan, and eventually join the local trade block under CPEC.

After the first couple of "tough" discussions about regional stability, JaiShankar who obviously consulted Indian leadership after every meetings, had the Indian government tell it's media to "calm down against Pakistan". So there will be an obvious tone-change in Indian media for the past two days going forward.

Chinese FM made sure India understands, it can't just join BRICS and expand border trade to for a strategic trade relationship. China is not America and be deceived. If India wants to truly focus on growing in Asia with the Chinese block, it MUST join the CPEC, even at a later time and rebuild positive relationships with Pakistan.

The indians are NOT to be trusted by either China, Pakistan or ANY other nation for that matter. For now they have been put in their place and have shut up because their position is very weak. Whenever india IS in a strong position they start taking about going to war with China or how they will genocide the entire population of Pakistan. This WILL NOT and SHOULD NOT EVER be forgotten by all those concerned. Now that the americans and the west have pulled the plug on their indian plan, the indians have realized how weak and pathetic they really are. For the last 30 years (since 1995) the americans/west have invested 3 trillion dollars in trying to build up india as a bulwark against China. That plan failed miserably and was laid to bare in operation sindoor. Had america/the west not invested that amount of money in india, india's position would have been weaker than even that of afghanistan and Somalia combined.

I personally believe that Pakistan should intensively try to build up, improve and advance it's economy and military to world class standards especially with regards to Pakistan's nuclear weapons program. The indians need to know that if they were to go to war with Pakistan, that it will spell the PERMANENT end of india and indians from the face of the universe.

Another thing that Pakistan and China need to be aware of is that YES, america and the west have abandoned india for now BUT what happens if they decide to RESTART their plan of trying to build up india again so it can be used against China? WHAT then? No good or benefit will come from it for China or Pakistan. The moment the americans and the west signal to india they want the old ties back, india WILL jump ship and run towards them.

The gulf between India and Pakistan in perspective and what's important is miles... lack of escalation management is an outcome of this gulf widening over last few years

The Pakistani military can defeat the Indian military. Indian military is not that strong.

Besides China also can fight India in a two front war.

Agreed but the worrying thing is allowing india to become a prominent member of BRICS whilst it"s security interests are aligned with that of america and the west. It enables india to play a duplicitous game that furthers it's hegemonic interests.

The Pak retaliation on May 10 with rockets and jets put Bharat on a backfoot after the Brahmos assault. No wonder a rocket force command has been established, and PAF is being strengthened further....
