To detect the F-35A by IRST


The F-16V-to-F-35A nozzle IRST engagement calculation.
The F-16V, in a head-on approach (while not looking directly at the F-35's nozzle, which is in poor condition) can detect F-35A from 20nm (37km) in clear air at 36,000ft with its LWIR sensor.

The IRST, looking at 6 o'clock, can detect F-35A from a minimum of 50 km
This isn't particularly dependent on the F-22, KAAN or F-16V
It depends on the quality of the IRST sensor.

GOKBORA is years away to be fine tune and delivered 'ready to war' to turkey.

As Meteor used a direct version of AD4A seeker of MICA, and as MICA NG, which will be delivered to french forces in 2026, is fitted with an EASA seeker it is clear that Meteor mk2 will have an AESA seeker befor your missile ready.

But it's true that the turkish industry is very active.
