thats a great use. indeed its a best usestill active with Blk-1 and 2s, can be repurposed as a SAM may be as well....![]()
id be very shocked in a PL-15 cost 1m+.
J-10C and PL-15 deal. $10.17 billion RMB (~$1.5B USD) for 20 J-10CE, 240 PL-15E, 10 spare WS-10B and a FMS and associated stores and services.
240 missiles even at 1m would be a huge portion of the contract. Id expect a single PL-15 to be around, or less than 500k/missile
it just wouldnt make sense, 1.2m is HUGEI have used the widely accepted price which is $1.2 million
They can still be used in a cruise missile interception role.after may would they come near 200 km? i dnt think so .
The PL-15E has a public sale price of $1.2~1.5 million. Pakistan's purchase price is $210 million for 240 of them.id be very shocked in a PL-15 cost 1m+.

PAF utilized that window of opportunity and ordered 500 AMRAMs, they knew that US can turn around anytime and impose sanctions. Its not the same case with China.its really amazing how well you talk out of your arse...
Pakistan had made the worlds largest AMRAAM order at the time...600 missiles. I bet a PL15 is a whole lotta cheaper too.
On top of that, China's largest exports of arms have always been to Pakistan... $8bn...
So that's 5 Million USD worth of missiles slung under the wings.
Pretty sure That's AI generated, looking at how close the planes seem to be.PAF J-10C Indus Dragons in Air-Air configuration armed with 4x PL-15 missiles on dual ejectors & 2x PL-10 HOBS WVR missiles.

The D version is expensive. But Pakistan has the C version in bulk.PAF utilized that window of opportunity and ordered 500 AMRAMs, they knew that US can turn around anytime and impose sanctions. Its not the same case with China.
D version has that price. Pakistan has C version.it just wouldnt make sense, 1.2m is HUGE
Those are nearing the end of their Shelf life of 10 years.
not for the PL-15D version has that price. Pakistan has C version.
I once visited the display stall of a contractor supplying cooling components for AAMRAAM . They had small Titanium cylinders on display. Those carried liquified gas at very high pressure, inside the AAMRAAM.
At certain time during the flight the bottle discharged , flooding the electronics with liquid gas, cooling components.
Just the bottles were stupid expensive. Then the actuators and other systems.
So in my opinion , the price tag does make sense.
