The blood looks like it hit the common carotid artery. That's a major artery that pumps blood to the brain, neck and face.

Yeah, it's low chances he survives this, and if he does, he's gonna end up with major life changing issues.

if his bleeding wasn't stopped quickly enough, he's either gonna end up with brain damage (the blood being supplied to the brain is oxygen rich, so the loss of oxygen from this artery rupturing is massive), or he's gonna end up dead.
