Today I bought my first Yeni Raki. After probably 20 years of wanting to buy a bottle. Finally! Although I'm not a big fan of ouzo and raki/arak,I just wanted to buy a bottle for so long.

I don't even drink that stuff. My body has to be looked after.

Nope. I just never wanted to. cant explain why. I like the smell of Raki though... if that helps.

No,I understand. I was never a big fan of alcohol like others who drink all the time. But I like to drink from time to time,mostly alone. And even then,not getting drunk like the Englishmen for example. I know people who say "what's two bottles of beer?" or "six cans of beer is ok" and I'm like whaaat? The smell of ouzo and raki is great,but I remember sometimes ouzo and sambuca gave me headaches.

I think i had a sip of beer when younger, and it tasted horrible. Raki I have a feeling would taste nice. and Vodka.. purely based on smell
But I do feel a little weird for not drinking anything, everyone I know almost does.

Vodka is very harsh usually,I avoid it.

It's a bit harsh in taste and generally too strong. At least for me. Compared to whisky,rum,
tequila,gin for example.
