Please keep in mind that this did not come about as a knee-jerk reaction. This has been over a decade in the making. Multiple Pakistani government, countless military leaders in Pakistan have been mulling over this along with the Saudis.

Also, this is a work in progress. This is why the detailed contours of the pact have not been disclosed. Is this a pact that includes tactical defensive mechanisms or is this more focused on the strategic elements only? We don't know.

The logistics, inter-operability, jointness, collaborative defense ventures are all being worked through and like the Pakistani nuclear posture, ambiguity is a must have. The grayer the red lines, the more effective the deterrence.

On top of this, there is a Pak-China-KSA triangle as well as a growing one with Pak-Turkiye-KSA. All of these will have implications (not suggesting a mutual defense clause with Türkiye on account of their mutual defense NATO obligations/constraints).

Last, there could be others from GCC who may want to become part of it but I am not sure if that is on the cards.

His eyes now has cataract after seeing our PM ( who we all mostly hate and find him incompetent), carrying out a diplomatic blitzkrieg ever since the India-Pakistan conflict.

Heck India can claim all the win it wants on the battlefield and even the F-16s. But the amount of diplomatic wins we have achieved post that conflict is surreal.

This is why Pakistan did not want to escalate the war.........it was the filthy bhindians who wanted to keep going to salvage whatever was left of their trash decision and air force.

Well done but this has to be followed up with some practical solutions

Announcements don’t dictate strategy

if you can’t track a formation of high flying B2 stealth bombers flying out of the continental United States I am not sure what this arrangement can help

You need military satellites to track your enemies , you need Signals intelligence (SIGINT) / electronic intelligence (ELINT) to monitor and track electronic emissions

rather than making this public announcement, it would’ve been much better if Pakistan and Saudi Arabia joined together to build 50 military satellites over the next 10 years

Another words, this is a total pile of rubbish for public consumption

ok kid ... dont kid your self

the attack on Doha triggered this ....

this has nothing to do with "ummah"....it was more to do with their our security.

but yes Pakistan is smart to exploit this.
Whatever triggered it, doesn't matter. What matters are the effects. Which is the Muslim nations - ummah- coming together and collaborating.

What happens if the Houthis send a missile towards Saudi oil production infrastructure. They have done it before. Does Pakistan get involved.

Decades in thought but maybe just months in materializing and I tend to think Netanyahu's folly of attacking Qatar become the final nail in the coffin for the Arabs: Blogs after blogs are saying Netanyahu and his minions attacks on neighboring countries and about the Greater Israel plans became the catalysts for this accord between Pakistan and KSA. We should remember that until just a few months ago, the Saudis were pushing Pakistan to not retaliate against India after the May 6/7 skirmish. So, until then, the Saudis and other GCC countries just wanted to keep the status quo.
In the end, decisions are made by just a few people on top. We give too much credit to 'democracy'. The Trump Presidency, despite being in a well established democracy, is heavily influenced by Trump's personal worldview and biases; there is hardly any 'checks and balances' left in America right now. So what to speak of what an absolute monarch like the Saudi king thought of the recent insults and threats from Israel?? The Arabs ensured to not help the Americans-Israelis to attack Iran and perhaps may have even facilitated the face-saving arrangement to defuse that situation which would be harmful to not only Iran but also to the Americans and the Israelis. But through that facilitation, they also saw the limits of the American power in the region, which an esteemed member above failed to see.
This is a different Middle East for sure.

Everyone needs to calm down

Saudis are strong enough to handle most threats themselves

Pakistan handles it's threats on its own

This is the START expect numerous countries to come together for a security alliance

This is a deal to support each other in times of conflict, offer diplomatic and financial support but most importantly SUPPORT MILITARY PROJECTS that both countries and multiple countries can benefit from

If a second Pakistan/India conflict breaks out

Pakistan doesn't need anyone turning up, but economic, diplomatic, security support can help

To all the PAKISTANI members of the forum I want to put forward "Just a what if scenario" which many of you might think as a wild thought only

Now there is a wide acceptance of two state solution and some countries in west also have said that they are ready to accept Palestine as State.

So my question is if a scenario emerge whee many countries other than Muslim countries accept Two state solution and somehow sincerely try to implement such a solution should Pakistan as an State back such efforts and accept Israel as State and as part of two state solution .... With clearly defined boundaries ???

I am asking this question as it will create many scenarios which are linked to this mutual defense agreement of Pakistan and KSA
Technically, Pak should be concerned about Qibla e Awwal, human rights and not about political boundaries. The neighbours have to accept the size of israel for peace. We should keep our demands simple.

Why these Indians think they know everything?
he has a point. Clan-based societies and countries have their own problems. Unity and centralisation are more important than external fights.
Hostilities surround SA except from the UAE and Oman sides. Qatar is nearly in the Turkish camp. SA eastern provinces and Bahrain locals are with Iran. Then it has Yemeni ethnic pop in the South.

complete hogwash!

they will only exploit this indian weakness and use it like a carrot!

EU nations are sly, Indians cant out-match Machiavellian minds!

ultimately, both parties, will look for benefits, exceeding financial benefits (like Indians doing dirty work for the west!)

this EU rant of 'cant trust India', is only to rile India up, and, then to force them to make an error!
Chaanakiya meet Machiavelli :D

Iran and its proxies are making peace with Saudi. Their rivalry is over.

Yes, as of now:
