@Oscar It looks like they completed the new SD-10 variant (i.e., PL-12AE). I remember back in 2018 when PAF/PAC folks were saying that a new variant of SD-10 would be considered for the Block-3 (as they weren't sure PL-15 would be available for export, which obv changed to PL-15/E once the J-10CE deal was signed).

The LD-8A anti-radiation missile appeared at last year's Zhuhai Air Show. But at the time, it didn't attract much attention.

with the extended range air defence systems, we need very long range and hypersonic speed anti radiation missiles to neutralize enemy radar/air defence systems from a safe distance and a very high probability/ assurity of kill. Something along the lines of CM400 AKG but with a higher speed and longer range.

sir it is obvious, AVM Aurangzaib even showed IADS picture tracking those. S-400 SAM went active right after they has suffered the crushing defeat in hands of PAF in Air Battle.

since that hour - S-400 at Adampur was quite active - taking pot shots at the formations of PAF inside Pakistan. but what they did not anticipate that our IADS was also capable of Engaging High-speed projectiles.

you need to re-visit AVM Aurangzeb press conference (1st one) you will see all of them were discussing high speed ballistic projectiles.

these were S-400 SAM (40N6E Missiles) attempting to engage PAF aircraft big or small. which was spined as Ballistic missiles fired at Pakistan.

The chinese have not that many anti radiation missile tbh...and i dont like the LD-8A(personal preference)...they have a copy of KH 31...called the YJ 91 too of which there is a anti ship version also....

its range is i guess under 50km?
The issue is china have 5th gen aircraft they dont need long range anti radiation missile but for us we will need long range in order to be saved from SAM. china also have UCAV from which they can launch these missiles

Contract for another HQ-XX system for PAF is being finalized - even that means, arrival and operationalization in 8-10 months - i won't share any more details till they decide to reveal it officially

Is should be cheaper - ie for lower value non-S400 radar types that need to be destroyed.

Ideally, Pakistan builds its own variant based off its experience with the SD-10 and the seeker technology it got from the MAR procurement.

IAF seems so confident with Rafale that they want to order 114 more !
Some french sources said it succeed dodging most of the PL15 fired, this is why some were found intact in the ground.

And no, India has not the sole choice of purchasing Rafale. F21, SH18, EF2000, Su35, Mig35, Gripen E are viable options. USA made hard pressure to sell one of its birds.

You could start by comparing the two missiles. They're completely different types, and there's no comparison.

BS-022, BS-027, BS-021 will all participate in IAF flypasts on October 03, 2025, just like Avenger 1 and 2 Su-30s participated in 2019 October flypast

likely better performance, also can carry 4 per jf-17, etc.

- cheaper
- can carry more of them
- lower RCS

the only advantage a bigger missile brings is a larger warhead, which isn't that important for SEAD since you are only taking out radars

And the difference in RCS would be pretty substantial given the size difference
