US/West invested a lot in Indian workers with full understanding with the INdian Govt that in return India will act as a West's base to destabalized China, fight with China and so forth. So when the time came, India refused to do anything of this because China molested them in the North, and then recently Pakistan bend these indians over and destroyed their airfoce like flies.
US has seen enough, and they know that they chose the wrong country. All these steps by the US recently is a final warning to India to behave like a little slave and attak China, or the West will destroy its economy and send the indians back.

Let us be clear. Indians and Pakistanis are not entitled to jobs in US or Europe. Their country, their rules. They are free to allow (or not) skilled immigrants from developing countries. The long-term solution as @BrigSmart says is for these countries to develop their own industry and markets.

Yes, of course. They will use other visas or even illicit routes to enter US.

US market doesn't have that many professionals who can fulfill market demands. How will US market handle this situation?

Exactly. US doesn't produce enough skilled professionals who can fill up roles thrown up by the market at the rate at which Asian immigrants are willing to work. You shut down the immigration, most of these jobs will migrate to places where these professionals are available.

He has a long game.

Would a single Indian or Pakistani have imagined this day arriving in the first year of a Donald Trump administration, where hordes of unwashed H1b masses are leaping from aircraft at JFK?

In my opinion, this is more of a short-term game to deflect attention from the Epstein saga. Mr Trump has brilliant political instincts and is a master of tactics, but he doesn't have the patience to play the long strategic game.

I think the workers rushing back to the US story was also overplayed in the media. If the person was in India, for example, no flight could have gotten him back in time unless he lived really close to Delhi or Mumbai airport and rushed there to catch the only direct flight of the day as soon as he heard the news. For most people affected, getting back in time was just not an option.
