The best the West can hope for is it's an one-off event by the PAF, of the PAF, and for the PAF against Modi's Hindutva IAF. Otherwise, it's the time to panic....

Just like ordering 12 SU30s as attrition replacement for losing 11 in accidents 😁

Bro I remember there was a discussion with Raj and other Indian trolls in old forum and this same point I made back then...... Replacement of 12 Su-30 30MKI frames against accepted losses of 11 frames. It clearly showed one Su-30MKi was shot in Feb 2019 but they did not make it public.

Bing Indians and experts in coping, they might have said, IAF expects to lose one more jet in the accident by the time we receive these replacements

A thought that was on my mind for quite some is that if the J-10s did not need to switch on their radars i.e to trap IAF fighters in their ABC kill chain, we just need fighters that can carry/launch PL-15s being guided by TDL, so it would be a cost effective approach aswell. So PAF can just modify older blocks of JFT to carry PL-15 via this ABC kill chain approach. Is it feasible? And what are the practical implications of that?

Logically yes. The Block I's were all converted to Block II, so the wings were strengthened to be able to carry it.

As to why the Block II's were not modified to carry the PL15E is a complete mystery in a kill chain environment as you have said.

It would be better if the Block II's could deploy the PL15E, as under the best case scenario, you get the extra range of the PL15E as part of the kill chain. The worst case, if the kill-chain is degraded/jammed in combat, then you still get a missile capable of operating at the maximum range of the JF17A/B radar which is the same as the SD-10 in terms of military capability. There is more military advantage in having the PL15E on the JF17A/Bs, then not...

So - yes, it is a complete mystery why PAF has not moved to upgrade the whole JF17 fleet to the PL15E ...

The argument goes further. Unmanned aircraft/"loyal wingmen" should be deployed for this exact purpose. The kill chain concept is the real focal point here and other components should now be explored to contribute to this central scaffold.

I'm still yet to verify the authenticity of this video but author claims that this was the "fifth Rafale" that crashed.
