I'm convinced J35 will come to PAF, as you just have signed a defence pact with Saudi Arabia. PAF is gonna deal with Israel airforce F35 in the future, it's a major threat. and money is never a problem for Saudi Arabia, as they have to pay for your protection.

Don't know about December 26. But I know two things have already happened or are in happening within the next few days:

1) Request to China to expedite J-35 deliveries like @wanglaokan said above to counter the F-35 threat.

2) Pakistan to officially join some Chinese 5th gen project as a partner where a version for Pakistan-KSA will be built in China and later Pakistan. Pakistan will implement a Chinese technology based Pulse assembly line to independently manufacture it's specific version of the 5th gen stealth jet in the future for Pak-Saudi requirements.

Additionally, collaboration on 6th gen will start also as Saudis are very keep on that so engineers from Saudia and Pakistan will participate in some 6th gen project designed for these two nations also. Saudia tried to join multiple sixth generation projects but all nations want to sell them the fighter but won't allow them to join to learn to build. German, Japanese, French and Americans, all have ditched their requests.

Obviously, this 6th gen project is years from now. But since agreements have been reached on strategy, the direction is now set.

Andreas - Not everyone here is a fanboy. Whether that tweet is by a joker or a genius, it doesn't matter. Because I've known it for 2+ months now this will be the case. The PFX or AZM, will have a 5th gen stealth jet coming out of it. There is absolutely NO ambiguity about it. It will all be out on media at the right time.

Our target is 2028 when we will officially debut a solid product in defense sector as well as re-balance our economy that year also. So good things coming in 2028. Until then, some wait will be required. Regards

The PFX or AZM, will have a 5th gen stealth jet coming out of it. There is absolutely NO ambiguity about it. It will all be out on media at the right time.

To be fair last year we all thought J35 is not even ready, some were saying not even one prototype exists. Now J35s are in production, and December 2026 is still 1.3 years away, we still have a chance for big surprise. I still think we will get 5th generation 2030-2032 timeline.

Why would you go for an inferior product and create it from scratch when the J-35 exists and the KAAN is going to be ready in mid 2030s?

Your proposal just creates complexity without any added benefit. Pakistan has neither the resources nor the time to indulge in such shenanigans. The PAF procurement culture has been characterized by wisdom, fortitude and exceptional intelligence. Long may it remain so!

PLA showcased the J-35 on September 3rd, which has not only been produced but also entered service.The biggest enemy of PAF currently is PLAAF, as it needs to allocate production capacity with PLAAF.

Its not happening.

Pakistan does not have the capability to build a 5th gen fighter. It's barely manufacturing 60% of the Jf-17, and is researching on how to manufacture the rest using Pakistani technology. What makes anyone think Pakistan is capable of producing a 5th gen?

No, because that was never the track to begin with.

Most optimistic views have said late 2027 at the very least. I personally think Pakistan isn't getting it before 2028, as PLA has to fulfill its own orders first.

There is no chance of this happening. At least not in our lifetimes, it will never happen.

Before making such a guess, you should first understand the relationship and underlying logic between these countries.

When we talk about acquiring and building a 5th generation or even a 4.5 gen jet, it is implied that it will come as TOT. That means you can start to build within 3-5 years. It can be aircraft, sub-systems and an engine. TOT makes it much easier to build things as long as your engineering talent has been trained by the provider.

You don't ask one country to give you an airframe, one to give you an engine and both to give you weapons interoperable between them. It doesn't work like that. Plus China will have concerns about Turkey's involvement so we don't need to get into all that.

Our military aviation industry is built on Chinese technology now. Next platform will also be Chinese. Turkey is years out before producing their KAAN jets. And how that will fit into Pak-Saudia defense agreement, it will be seen in the future.

Pakistani engineers read the same curriculum the Chinese or the Americans read. We lack practical projects for these engineers to advance their theory into practical solutions through R&D. Same goes for India but to a lesser degree as they now have the money but still way behind real advancement. The main issue here is lack of funds.

Due to lack of financials, we aren't building advance facilities and are relying on the Chinese industry for certain things and thus, not developing 100% of the JF-17 as an example. You crank up your defense budget to $ 25 billion a year and within 2-3 years, so many things will start happening here. Second thing is, we need faster delivery for the JF-17 so we get a portion of the fuselage built in China to meet our numbers as our manufacturing is still mainly manual.

Now with the current situation, as things move forward with Pak-Saudi defense agreement, we will establish proper manufacturing lines and supply chain network. You can't defend yourself or anyone in real possibly prolonged conflicts if you don't manufacture your own defense equipment. That's really that simple. I've been saying it for months now as I had some know how, a 5th gen platform will come out of AZM rebranded to PFX. Just wait and watch until 2028.

I know I'm being rude again with my judgment, but please... it's IMPOSSIBLE!

Even if Saudi Arabia sends massive amounts of money, Pakistan won't be able to develop it in the timeframe you envision – I'm convinced, even simply not on its own.

That's simply beyond their technical capabilities, even if they a) could access an external, pre-developed design and b) get a foreign engine for it... neither of which, in my opinion, will happen.

Consequently, these plans - even if it hurts - are simply unrealistic dreams, and anyone who writes such posts on X is either an idiot, a propagandist who knowingly lies, or a stupid fanboy living in their own dream world.

But the 2028 you envision is COMPLETELY unrealistic!
