Are you really that daft and stupid to believe that everyone in the region is holding up terrorists and strikes can't go wrong?

The previous botched drone strike killed ~5 confirmed innocent people.

What next? You're gonna dromb a JDAM on a whole village? Too bad the village was harboring terrorists?

I remember seeing a video I believe from Tirah or somewhere a couple months back. TTP came to a guy's house to ask for food and money etc., the guy refused. The next day they come with a whole group and take the guy away and kill him.

So I am sorry if I empathize a bit with the people stuck in this mess and do not want to blow them all up to kingdom come.

So it's not the responsiblity of the state to prevent terrorists from coming in or residing in towns, but the responsibility of the town to expel the terrorists, and if they don't leave, then just fkc off yourself.

No one is bombing the villages willy nilly ... don't exaggerate the mess that we are already in.

all autocratic and sadistic minds think the same. What next, a terrorist hiding in a mosque, school, etc, by coercive means, people like him would raze down that building. Unless, for sure, their own kin or parents are in that building.

The death of civilians is quite unfortunate, whatever the circumstances.

Incidentally, this sort of thing is quite common in the Indian state of West Bengal. The state is ruled by a criminal outfit/cult called the Trinamool Congress. Most of its members are heavily into making illegal arms and in the hot weather frequently mishaps happen.

Counter terrorism is not just about kinetic action but also winning narratives. This isn’t some foreign land, it’s your own land and your people. Turning the locals against you by playing into the hands of terrorists won’t help win this war.
Was there not any other options? Sending troops in for an IBO? Using quadcopter or FPV drones? Luring the terrorists out then killing them and dismantling their base?
Even if terrorists involve their entire families you just can’t kill their whole family in an airstrike in a civilian area in front of the entire village. This is not winning hearts and minds. Pakistan as a state has to consider many things before it does something. The state isn’t some rag tag militia that can kill without thinking and considering the consequences.

Those who think this is right are the reason why Pakistan is still stuck in counter insurgency war for the last few decades.

Look you either send in troops in IBOs in these areas which risk troops lives

Or you safeguard troops and just use heavier equipment to blow the enemy apart


If you want IBOs it's a slow process that will take many years of constant effort, overcoming not just the afghani scum but the local human trash

And will result in troops taking casualties because thats the nature of the operation


Or you can just blow up the terrorists and their sympathizers up

Whatever happens we need to push the Afghans out of the country, Pakistan needs to move forward as does the Muslim world and we can't endlessly waste time with these useless afghani people

These explosives would have killed many of our troops, thankfully many lives have been saved.
