HAL LCA Tejas: Updates, News & Discussions

Yasser I have to admit this Tejas saga is joke tbh
You have rediculed for years and proven right it's too late in the day...

I have no confidence in either Tejas or Amca arriving in numbers or in time to be useful .

I cant think of any country, that has adopted western tech. to improve their life stand. without giving their full autonomy.

Japan
South Korea (see their exchange rate to $)
Singapore (to some extent)

NATO:
Germany
Poland
Romania
and others

so, question of improving (another form of adoption!) western tech. does not come without giving up a choice of independent decision making.

IMHO!

could be wrong, there could be more 'correlations'!

LCA- Lamba ch@tiya aircraft.
Let me reiterate what i have been saying for more thn a decade now.
Indian Chai biscuit orgs like Hal,drdo a akin to matric fail students, who promise everyone they will pass next year. They failed because teacher is bad, books are inaccurate, questions are tough, time was less etc.
Now with lca mk2,amca,these matric fails are again promising that they will complete PhD.
Just imagine and salute to delusional guys who think lca mk2,amca will ever become reality.

The brighter ones on here see it. Use this time now to develop own engine, tech demonstrators and aim for decent output on the AMCA which at least will be relevant when it roles off the production line.

Nice plane but decade too late
Better

LCA as a Product is good & potent.
LCA as a project is FUBAR.

By 2040 we will have a Death Star fully opperational.

So even if HAL love up to their promises IAF will be accepting 4th Gen planes in 2033!?

Nothing wrong with plane, and more follow up orders as IAF wants to replace Mig21, Jags and even Mirages with Tejas. Migs gone and next 5-7 years others life span is also coming to an end.

On a side note, HAL have told so many lies that they have given up on telling the truth and live on excuses. These guys have no pride in whatever they do, Modi should have given them big danda where sun doesn’t shine with last missed deadline. Would love to see their project management risk register and what the F**K they tell in their monthly progress meetings to higher ups.

There are two issues with handing over MK1A to IAF, one is slow engine deliveries from GE, and equally important one is a critical component from Denmark, which has something to do with performance diagnostic in GE F404, and guess what, it was embargoed by Danes. Slow deliveries actually helped them in saving face, without that component, they wouldn’t be able to handover the jets to IAF.

It'll take some time to indigenise that component, however I have read somewhere that they have now lifted the embargo and that component will be soon available to HAL on regular basis

As a product LCA MK1A is good as any other 4+ Gen Light weight Fighter Jet. Problem is the lousy project manager
