Iranian Air Defence Systems | News and Discussions

I'm not talking about them using S-300s or something. But rather that they are using manually aimed AA guns, these are borderline useless in modern contexts. Majid system should be the minimum level these units operate with, not the top level. What happened to the ZSU-23-4 with misagh missiles they "unveiled." Likely just another waste of money one off. Something like that would be expected in the context of a mechanized brigade.
Zsu-23s are operated by the Artesh. I've never seen them employed by IRGC. Zu-23s exist in large numbers and are effective against slow, low flying targets. I would like to see them being fitted with thermal camera's for night fighting.

Why not Mesbah 2. 8 barrels man.

This is certain Russia delivered something to IRIAF, probably continuing Yak-130 deliveries, or Su-30SM2, one of the two

Most platforms that I check claim that Iran has received an unknown number of Mig29s, probably Mig29-M. If experience means anything, I think we should wait for official confirmation by the IRIAF, or some real evidence.

Mig-29M/M2 is also reliable, many reliable sources (not the usual "Iran Clash Report" fake accounts) confirms the delivery

Its almost certain Iran received some Mig-29M/M2 as well as Yak-130, Su-30SM2 is the less probable but they will be very easy to track on satellite imagery if its true

Honestly, call me a pessimist, but nothing is certain with the IRIAF until I see visual proof. lol

I think Mig-29M/M2 is very likely because we're already familiar with Mig-29 and we can switch to Mig-29M with minimal training compared to another platform that has a larger airframe and different flight dynamics.

If true, then that means Iran has not received any new IADS systems from China as they are still discussing payment terms. ( Additionally, that China does not care about UN sanctions ).

The veracity of this message is highly questionable. It is almost certainly a rumor.

Oil trade between China and Iran has indeed existed. However, there are many special circumstances.

Several years ago, China terminated official direct oil trade with Iran. Since then, oil trade between China and Iran has mainly taken two forms:

1. Re-export trade. This involves transit through third countries. Chinese state-owned enterprises primarily import Iranian oil this way. Malaysia is the largest transit country.

2. "Legal" smuggling. Also known as Iran's shadow fleet. Chinese private enterprises primarily import Iranian oil this way.

In recent years, data reports from China's General Administration of Customs regarding oil trade have consistently shown that China imports zero oil from Iran. Western countries, led by the United States, are aware of these issues but are powerless to intervene.

However, if this oil trade between China and Iran is used for the trade of advanced weapons, then the issue escalates to a different level.

I don't rule out other possibilities. For example, China could help Iran upgrade its existing weapons systems; or China could export weapons technology and key components to Iran for domestic production. However, the possibility of China directly exporting HQ-9 air defense missiles to Iran through oil trade is extremely small.

If China does export HQ-9 air defense missiles to Iran, then it's far more likely to be a direct transaction than through oil trade.

Iran's crude oil exports to China hit new record high: report

TEHRAN, Nov. 09 (MNA) – TankerTrackers has announced that the Iranian oil exports to China have hit new record high since May 2018 when the United States withdrew from the 2015 nuclear deal known as the JCPOA and re-imposition of the sanctions.
"Over the past 4 weeks, Iran has exported nearly 2.3 million barrels of crude oil per day. These are numbers we haven't seen since the early half of 2018," TankerTrackers company, an independent online service that tracks and reports shipments of crude oil in several geographical and geopolitical points of interest, reported in a post on its X account.

Oil analyst Homayoun Falakshahi said in late October that Iranian oil sales had reached 2.1 million barrels per day, and this figure is considered a new record for Iran.

Iran is currently under the toughest US oil sanctions, which were supposed to bring the country's oil exports to zero, but Iranian tankers under sanctions are freely moving around the world.

You should read my posts carefully before considering whether you need to refute them.

1. I did not deny oil trade between China and Iran. It has indeed been ongoing.

2. China's General Administration of Customs regularly publishes relevant data. However, the data for oil trade between China and Iran has recently been zero. This trade is conducted through non-public channels, hence the zero figure from China's General Administration of Customs. This only represents officially released data and does not include any hidden data. How Iranian official agencies publish this data is their own decision.

As is widely known, China and the United States have been engaged in a trade and tariff war in recent years. Official agencies in both countries regularly release trade data. However, this official data differs significantly from the unofficial "Yiwu Index" .

The US has banned Nvidia from selling H100 chips to China. However, if you visit the data centers of Chinese technology companies, you'll find an astonishing number of…
