HAL LCA Tejas: Updates, News & Discussions

In reality Tejas Mk1A order book is now bigger than Gripen E/F and JF-17 Block 3.
It's almost as if that's the case because the IAF has a reducing squadron number crisis and legacy platforms it needs to replace.

And despite the massive order, all you have to show for it is barely 60 or so airframes.

Well, yet another super-point for quartet‘s Game :ROFLMAO:

Mist likely however the final Tejas will be delivered when the first Gripens and Thunders are being phased out.
Brazil will receive it last Gripen in 2030.
You want to tell me they will phase out their Gripen just 3-4 years after last delivery?
PAF too hasn't received all of the JF-17 Blk 3 it ordered (only upto 23-323 seen so far).

He means early versions (Gripen A/B and JF-17A) will indeed start phasing out.

I really do not see HAL completing the MK1A project succesfully (it is already dead for all intents and purposes), but even if they did, surprises if they would do this before 2040. In which case India will be the only country on earth producing 4th Gen planes....

That was a joke! ;) ... actualyl there is no other way to react and reply to such nonsense!

Great momentum, at this rate you will have enough for an entire Sqd by 2030

Yasser the Indians have over 10 may be 13 ready built Mark1a planes but no engines to put in them

This delay last 12 months is on USA engine supply surely not Indian ability to build planes...

I know it makes no difference but it' needs to articulated

Your second point is True though India post 2030 will be still building 4th generation fighters for another 5 years maybe longer until 2040 when Amca arrives

But the biggest air forces will still be flying in front line 4th generation fighters until 2040/2045

Pakistan in 2035 will still have 200 Thunders and upgraded old F16 guaranteed..your pushing for mlu with Turkey or USA now...
China will still have over 500 J10 and J11
France 200 Rafales
UK 100 Typhoons
South korea 100 plus F16/F15
Israel at least 150 F15/F16
Saudi F15 Typhoons x 100plus
Sweden over 150 gripens

Finally if you break down to new manufacturing only or new entrants only
Then
France and Sweden will be churning out Rafales and Gripens with Rafale built in India

No air force can provide daily sortie rates on hyper expensive fifth generation fighters only

They need the 4th generation fleet to achieve this

negative- block 1's will probably nearly fully phased out by then.

To explain my 200 projection is as follows X

60 F16 upgraded
140 block 3 thunders

I have assumed in this coming decade you upgrade 100 thunders to block 3
And upgrade all your F16 block v

That's serious work time and money
You replace all mirages and all F7 maybe even old worn out F16s

You add more j10c and two squadron of J35

That is huge huge modernisation programme like 90% of your airforce will have been upgraded or replaced

Today you have 12 operational j10c
And barely 30 block 3 thunders just to showcase your reality versus perception versus 2035 fleet I predict ... massive changes

That's true. Both F-22 and F-35 have low availability rate. There is no credible info on J-20 and Su-57 - the latter, however, has much bigger problems than low availability rate, i.e., existing in large numbers in the first place to have an availability rate. Countries like Israel and the USA, which only fight asymmetric wars with virtually no aerial threats can breath easy on this, but India and Pakistan cannot. Thus, 4th and 4.5th gen. aircraft are necessity. Even the USAF insists on flying their F-16s and F-15s until 2050.
