Guyana announced it added radars, military planes and vessels to its defenses as tensions with neighboring Venezuela linger on.

President Irfaan Ali noted that the equipment has been provided by France and is part of a broader effort to address threats by the Venezuelan regime, which has signaled its intention of taking over the Essequibo, an oil-rich territory that represents two-thirds of the country and Caracas claims as its own.

Cedric Perrin, head of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces Committee in the French Senate said the country is the only one "capable of helping."

There is an ongoing territorial dispute between Guyana and Venezuela over the Essequibo region (Spanish: Guayana Esequiba; Spanish pronunciation: [ɡwaˈʝana eseˈkiβa] ⓘ)[1] a 159,500 km2 (61,600 sq mi) area west of the Essequibo River and even parts south of it. The territory, excluding the Venezuelan-controlled Ankoko Island, is controlled by Guyana as part of six of its regions,[note 1] based on the 1899 Paris Arbitral Award. It is also claimed by Venezuela as the Guayana Esequiba State.[2][page needed][3][4]
The boundary dispute, also known as the Essequibo conflict,[5] was inherited from the colonial powers (Spain in the case of Venezuela, and the Netherlands and the United Kingdom in the case of Guyana) and has persisted following the independence of Venezuela and Guyana.

The US has worked alongside several countries, most notably Colombia, in the fight against the drug cartels. I've several friends who spent time in the Colombian jungle.

They are, but I meant a hot war --

It's coming.
Of course it is. The majority of oil refineries in America was built for Venezuelan crude.

WAR IS A RACKET

Why don’t those damned oil companies fly their own flags on
their personal property—maybe a flag with a gas pump on it.

—Brigadier General Smedley D. Butler, 1937

Not a hot war, more like a Regime Change. Maduro is an unpopular dictator in Venezuela; it would be far cheaper to find someone who can take his place and install him in the government instead.

A coup from within would most likely prevent chaos. However, he's created a dad's army separate from the military, which I think counters a possible scenario with bloodshed.

It really depends. Maduro lost a lot of his swagger in the last decade or so, he is probably at the edge of Saddam Hussein when the late 90s and early 2000s. Or the Assad regime in Syria. I will say there are always going to be loyalist elements (the same with Iraq and their Republican Guard), but if they are successful, it's largely going to be people throwing their arms and putting it down. There won't be much of a fight if they had chosen the right candidate.

Think I mentioned yesterday, Trump needs to put Gaza on the back burner for a while, ZOG is likely to now attack Venezuela.

War fatigue. Most Americans now have it.......

The Trump administration has said that in reality Maduro is the de facto leader of these cartels, and so he's not the legitimate leader of resource-rich Venezuela. On this point, the NY Times is out with the following bombshell on Friday:

Venezuelan officials, hoping to end their country’s clash with the United States, offered the Trump administration a dominant stake in Venezuela’s oil and other mineral wealth in discussions that lasted for months, according to multiple people close to the talks.

The far-reaching offer remained on the table as the Trump administration called the government of President Nicolás Maduro of Venezuela a “narco-terror cartel,” amassed warships in the Caribbean and began blowing up boats that American officials say were carrying drugs from Venezuela.

Under a deal discussed between a senior U.S. official and Mr. Maduro’s top aides, the Venezuelan strongman offered to open up all existing and future oil and gold projects to American companies, give preferential contracts to American businesses, reverse the flow of Venezuelan oil exports from China to the United States, and slash his country’s energy and mining contracts with Chinese, Iranian and Russian firms.
However, the report says that President Trump still rebuffed this offer. The consensus is that Secretary of State Marco Rubio's hard anti-Maduro line has prevailed, also in favor of oppositive activist and leader María Corina Machado, who was just awarded the Nobel Peace Price on Friday. The Nobel was awarded, supposedly, as she has kept "the flame of democracy burning".

María Corina Machado Dedicates Nobel Peace Prize to Trump

Venezuelan opposition figure reinforces critics' arguments about her submission to the United States.

The awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to María Corina Machado continues to generate controversy, and in a recent post, the Venezuelan opposition leader ended up reinforcing the arguments of those who criticize her for her surrendering and submissive stance towards the United States. In a message released on social media, Machado celebrated the victory as a "boost" for the movement aimed at achieving "freedom" for the country, explicitly mentioning the support of President Donald Trump and dedicating the prize to him.

"We are on the threshold of victory and today more than ever we count on President Trump, the people of the United States, the peoples of Latin America, and the democratic nations of the world as our main allies to achieve freedom and democracy," she stated. The post caused controversy, as it reaffirms a stance aligned with the interests of the United States, reinforcing the criticism of her detractors, who accuse her of being a "coup plotter" and of submitting to the desires of foreign powers, to the detriment of Venezuela's national sovereignty. In the letter accompanying the announcement of her prize, Machado also made a point of emphasizing her view that the struggle for freedom is an unfinished task, which still depends on more international support. The Nobel winner cited "genuine allies" as crucial to achieving her goals, primarily the United States, and also stated that the Venezuelan people are determined to win their freedom.

NOTE: Corina is not only an opponent of Maduro but also a pro-Zionist. According to her, there is no genocide in Gaza and said that if she "governs Venezuela" she will transfer the embassy to Jerusalem. She is a puppet of the Zionist lobby, which is why she won the Nobel Prize, demonstrating that this is a corrupt award created by Zionists.
