We have to expect that the TTP will start suicide bombings on easy civilian targets

And in response we need to hammer them, absolutely hammer every target we have on our lists

The my don't fear is, because they believe because of our ethnic make up, we won't truly harm them or come after them and that historically has been true, we have done everything to placate the Afghans and nothing has worked

Translation:

I love the last part. I hope Pakistan can exploit the divide fully, as those people should ideally be thankful to Pakistan for the favour.

Somehow I think Pakistan is getting the unparalleled American 'intelligence' on Afghanistan now. PS. If anything about the recent various Gaza-Israel war demonstrates, it is that the intelligence-gathering tools of America are probably the best in the world and they span just about all the globe!!!
 
Just saying, whatever form of government Afghanistan has, they could protest because their "sovereignty" has been breached. Secondly, if there are or even no civilian casualties, it could be used to fuel anti-Pakistan sentiment and to recruit more TTP terrorists.

I am of the view, instead of sending birds, calculated headshots would be more fruitful. But oh well, target rich environment would ultimately require massive firepower and CAS would have to be called.

And you think Pakistan will sit back? This is new normal. And I'm sure Taliban leaders are very scared of their lives. The average taliban terrorist? No because he is brainwashed with 72 hoors in after life and is ready to end his miserable life. But taliban leadership and their families live good.

Using teams on the ground is unrealistic for so many reasons:

- Timing (getting your weapon in place based on real time intel)
- Distance (often tens of hundreds of KM deep into Afghanistan on foot)
- Safety (getting out after a clash)
- Success rate (easy for HVT to escape once a firefight starts)
- accessing high security zones. (Underground bunkers)

It's so extremely inefficient against any semi-organised group with its own territory

Exactly putting valuable ground assets at risk for a job that can be done safely and easily by a drone.
