JF-17 PFX program

I meant in terms of design idea - quasi LO
That would have to be an entirely new design. Doesn't fit with the JF-17 PFX label.

From what I understand, the single vertical tail and the horizontal stabilisers on JF17 constitute two corner reflectors. This constraints LO potential. It cannot become a KF-21.

JF-17 PFX has now been mentioned in three reports that are months apart.
Yes, because it's KAAN project which would get modified according to our requirements. I seriously doubt it's some totally different project. It's KAAN which would be modified according to our needs.

How will Kaan become "JF17 PFX?"

How will Kaan become "JF17 PFX?"
Because our version would be different from KAAN. 75 % same 25 % changed according to our needs so it would be PFX. I seriously doubt that it's some totally new fighter jet program. Or some single engine fighter jet program.

PAF playing their confusing game as usual. Just someone made a slide in fast speed. It's KAAN program modified for us.
KAAN is a twin tail aircraft

Once again - the idea isn’t to create a KF-21. But the external weapons hung reduce rcs.. lets take the example out and think of the F-15SE type situation or rather a proposed stealther version of the Rafale that came out a decade ago.

Yes, the single tail 90 degree reflector is a problem but shaping does help with some reduction. Question is how much will it impact it and what are they trying to achieve.

There is little we can tell from that image other than it is a JF-17 derivative with additional Lerx and blended wing and stabilizer area.

Ok How did I missed it. Does these sound similar TFX and PFX. Guys it's KAAN fighter jet program. A modified KAAN for Pakistan.

it says: "Expanding on the experience of JF-17 and deepening defence ties with Turkey, PAF is currently working on another fighter program called ‘PFX’. The program is in the advanced design stage and will incorporate all futuristic capabilities being developed at different NASTP centres." AVM M Z FAISAL

TFX is not in advanced design stage... besides why would they continue it with same name being JF-17

MODP Report from 2018 - 2021 talked about a twin engine JF-17. Could this have something to do with it?

It is a 4.5 generation aircraft,

Video : " The journey of Smart inductions by PAF Leadership is very adaptive , balanced and fully immersed into New age Trials.
A Pivotal milestone in this strategic shift is The JF-17 PFX Program aligning with COAS Long term vision to modernize PAF inline to dictates of contemporary warfare parameters."

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble but this is hot air that the PAF is blowing up the nation's behind.

Some facts:
1. The JF17 facilities at Kamra (AMF) are about to go dormant and the PAF is in a great panic to figure out something to do with them.
2. The PAF approached Turkish Aerospace for potential JF17 upgrade but the Turks rightly countered what about IP and dealing with China because you cant go about messing with JF17 in secret to which the PAFs reply was "don't worry sar!" and nothing. So this discussion went nowhere.
3. Turkish Aerospace has tried several times to rope in PAC into Kaan but PAC has failed to do so because of their utter incompetence and laziness and the desire to prop up NASTP and put it between everything.
4. PAF has a habit of lying and bragging. I know of several examples where things were shown at NASTP that were literally stolen slides from Turkish Aerospace. I won't go into details. But the point is that PAF likes to pretend it's collaborating MUCH more than it really is.

Considering these facts, if I had to guess what PFX is? It's some AVM's brainfart of an idea to keep the JF17 line running with something with the plan to figure something out along the way. Nothing more. There is no collaboration with Turkey. They don't want any part of someone's current brainfart that will be replaced by a totally different brainfart in a few months. Sounds like usual false bravado and grand plans and an official version of "he's my best friend" when he doesn't even want to acknowledge your existence.

it makes sense, small 4.5++++++ airplane will have role for at least couple of decades ahead, when you put in calculus flight costs and maintenance one it adds further value, if in process you domesticate as much parts as possible it is even better for other programs.
for full success of program you need to sell existing JF-17 too, that will add economy and political value also.

I think he is wrong my guess till now is that it's 5th Generation KAAN. But if KAAN is being followed under name Azm and this one is separate than I am shocked.

This is not JF-17 even we know that. No they are not blowing things up. Just recently a meeting took place between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and Turkey also. They got J-10 C also. Something is being worked at. And what if something really turns out to be true. We all have been following PAF for some time no offense they have hardly any such claim in public which is not practically followed.
