They can keep the grudge, but they will not fight till the last man as they have their country to rule. The Soviets/NATO captured their territory. Locals have minimal incentive left, so they fought for that.

Tribals from everywhere need physical pressure to behave correctly (like wolves). They also forgive when an agreement is reached. We just need to be careful when to stop so as not to make them a permanent enemy.

While we are at it, it is best to clip Afghan/Taliban's wings and destroy all civilian and military airfields across Afghanistan and major road links to neighboring countries. They should be vastly dependent on Pakistan for their movements, especially *eastwards*.

The biggest issue even once this ceasefire is implemented that in a net "fire in the house" situation is with Pakistan - not people who had little to lose in the first place.
Taliban will sell millions of minerals but continue to remain in their interpretation of a simple lifestyle. At best you will see upgraded cars and a better hujra but that is that.
All other aspects of their lifestyle wont change simply because there is little lines of communication for anyone else to have aspirations especially 50% of their other sex population to do anything.

So unlike Ghani running with millions or billions - where will these guys go ?

But that doesnt change the overall ingrained hostility of the population now compounded by the Taliban as well.

Blockades are useful. When theyre hungry, thier population will turn thier guns on them. Besides they have plenty of other neighbours. Maybe India can air drop cargo via Tajikistan.
