The only operations that I can see is to take Wakhan.

The news isn't true but Wakhan isn't the only place that Pakistan can take and make the border more defensible at the same time.

Eastern Bank of chitral river for example.

Pros. More natural border, puts Pakistan a stone throw away from Jalalabad and bases there. Makes sure water right of peshawar valley are never in jeopardy with a large dam in Kunar. Acts as a buffer for Bajaur, Upper and Lower dir.

Cons: Not major towns but still moderately populated.

Pakistani forces have destroyed Taliban militias three major weapon systems including one MBRL and a tank at Turkmanzai Top, one US made Humvee with SPG-9 by effective Artillery Fire, along with the killing of fifty militants

According to sources, larger number of TTA & TTP militants on Afghan side have been injured and shifted to Khost for medical treatment; Musa Jaan is reportedly accompanying them.

Seven Afghan APCs observed in Paloseen Village were effectively targeted by Pakistan Army’s Artillery Fire

Militants were trying to regroup at Malak Naeem House but precise targeting inflicted heavy casualties

Moreover, one Taliban Tank got destroyed at Naraig Sar by a UCAV and one vehicle with RPG is destroyed by a soldier

Pakistani forces are carrying out extensive surveillance through all available means

Heavy weapons are in position with Artillery and Mortars fire ready to wreck havoc on Taliban militia.

Most post above referred to the 'ordinary' Afghans Pakistanis have sympathies for even when wanting all Afghans to leave Pakistan asap. And nobody can tell me that a country of 40 million people are all out to work against Pakistan. But unfortunately, among the ordinary Afghans themselves, due to their dire situation in life in various ways, they become the cannon fodders against themselves and against neighbors. And even more unfortunately for Pakistan, there is a small but extremely dangerous fringe group which is up for hire to the highest bidders.

This brief video, in English language, says that don't be blinded by the Taliban's 'ideological' appearances: It is yet another Afghan leadership going for the highest bidder, currently it is India!!

You wanna know the funny thing? The same Afghans complaining on Twitter about the taliban not allow girls education, or executing dissidents, or arresting innocent civilians, are now the same ones cheering on the taliban, and asking them to invade Pakistan.

Pakistan should take the Wakhan Corridor. It is not much more than Pakistan's Chitral region's northern sliver of land and with fairly similar topography/climate. Defending the Wakhan Corridor from Afghanistan should not be much more than defending Chitral. And W-C was just an imperial agreement between the Tzar Russians and the British Empire.
Borders have been changing throughout human history. In just last 5 year, Azerbaijan, Russia and Israel have acquired considerable territory. Afghanistan is not even a 'nation' as such and no one likes them--not even the Indians who are apparently hugging them these days.

Even we donot have to take the region by invation we just have to chocked them at Langar village it will will reduce the burden from army shoulder to guard the 248km area of border !!! just by choking at single point without invasion. a perminent artilary to hit the road everytime they try to build it or pass any vehicles or weapons.
