There is an issue of Ammunition and weapons employed and cost

Currently most effective way to handle the Rag Tag Afghan Namak haram is artillery, everything has cost.

what we are missing is locally produced Thermobaric ammunition, that would be exactly what PA & FC require.

Could be commanders on the ground and troops taking their own initiative. They possibly genuinely want to take the fight hand to hand with the enemy.

Yes soldiers are at risk but what they thr priorities of their commanders specifically at Brig and above level?

Army is a military machine it a complete organization, which requires Logistics (Secure transportation) there is so much to do just move a division to frontline. and that takes times. movement of ammunition and strike assets takes time.

then comes strategic decision and rules of engagement

Political/Military once unite and like they did in 2008 only then we can see some seriously and vicious military operation. otherwise, mission is to contain and secure 10-20km buffer by capturing Border posts.

Actually, that is hurting Afghans more in long run! very very hard.
