‘Stalemate’ situation

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Monday described the situation as a “stalemate”, noting that there were “no ties, direct or indirect” between Islamabad and Kabul in the fallout of the unprovoked attack.

“You can say there are no active hostilities, but the environment is hostile,” he said on Geo News programme ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada ke Saath’ while reporting a lull in attacks.

He also stressed that Pakistan had the “right to react” to being attacked, and warned that the fighting could resume again at any time.

Attacks resume

As Asif predicted, the exchange of blows resumed again last night between Pakistani forces and the Afghan Taliban in the Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to state media reports.

State-run PTV, citing security sources, described the attack from the Afghan side as unprovoked once again, adding that the Pakistani army “responded with full force and intensity”.

Why are we trying to knock out individual viechles. Afghanistan has some very good American kit and as long as it doesn’t pose an immidiete threat to us we shouldnt target it. Instead target their oil reserves, refineries and other infrastructure whilst continuing our blockade when their economy comes to a halt and their viechles cannot run then we capture them

I very much think that Pakistan can easily succeed in this campaign with minimal blowback. The reason being that there is very recent history of the US in Afghanistan, there was a lot to be learned, a lot of scenarios that either succeeded or failed that have so far let us have the upper hand.

This includes the behaviors of TTP/Taliban, their psychology, habits etc.

After all, we're all human.
If the Taliban think their strength is guerrilla warfare, well, we have technology and we have people who can fight guerrilla warfare too.

What is the endgame here ? Does anyone seriously believe that bombing Afghanistan is going to end terrorist attacks inside Pakistan ?

what do you suggest we do , talk it out for the thousandth time . also notice there haven't been any attacks since the clash began

Bloody drama queen, it is targeted precision strikes on terror leadership, so go back inside and play on your tiktok
She appears to be Tajik. Obviously no one likes their family to get hurt but deep down they must be happy Taliban is getting hammered.

I am not a national security expert. I am just asking what the endgame is because I can't figure out what it is and how bombing Kabul is going to solve anything in the long-run.

Well, if this is the new norm, then they'll think 5x before executing another terrorist attack. This iron fist approach is needed to set a deterrence. All the attacks that have been happening before were either not responded to at all, or minimally.

That had to change, our lives are not any less precious.

Plus with the world turning a blind eye, why pass up this opportunity to set it straight as it weakens India's mischievous plans.
