Pakistan-Af: Operation Khyber Storm

Maybe not to the extent of your liking but Pakistan has always responded inline with its targeted goals. You've never seen us back away from any fight. Insinuating that we will now against these jokers makes no sense. Don't forget that the Afghan attacks started when you bombed their capital. In fact, in less than 2 years you've conducted airstrikes in 3 different countries.
You and I have no idea what is happening right now, except that we've seen Pakistani soldiers inside Afghan posts and not the other way around. That didn't happen because we were invited.

A very Good post!

Creating even a 10 mile buffer inside Afghanistan is almost a physical impossibility due to the terrain, the long border, the houses straddling the two borders, the family connections on both sides. Pakistan doesn't have the readily available manpower for that while there is India ready to pounce given any chance, nor Pakistan has the money.
Also, the foolish talks of 'leveling' Afghanistan, as said by some above, is just not possible, even if morality is set aside, short of nuking much of Afghanistan, which we know is not going to happen--and should not happen.
There are really no good options in Afghanistan for Pakistan--and the world. Only long term is a neutral govt, at peace with Pakistan, and with social uplifting of Afghanistan in education, health etc.
You have summarised the problem very well. I personally think Pak has to actively support the opposition as long as they are better than the Taliban there is a viable alternative. Afghanistan ultimately can only change from within. Pak also needs a strategy to deal with any sympathy from locals within Pak bordering Afghanistan.

Lol -- these namak harams are now telling their public that Pakistan requested for ceasefire.

this itself should be enough. I have never been pro violence but since I saw the video I am boiling with anger.
It brings me back the feelings when I lost friends in then FATA and when I had to condole the widow and the children... The worse was the APS attack aftermath.
may allah swt bless their souls.

I don‘t want to cite a criminal entity like Israel as an example but PK should go totally gung ho on Afghanistan, replying with completely disproportione bombings with no thought on human lives and totally level the country so nothing evil can come from there in future. WHY ISN‘T THAT HAPPENING?
Ummmm ... coz we really are NOT Israel

So what should had been done ? Bring teachers from America to get them killed ? ..... Afghanistan as a nation was not into nation building ...for Afghans America was a cow to be milked ....it has become a fashion to blame every failure on the " ulterior motives" of military industrial complex .

You are not contradicting @AZ_HighCountry . Same side, I believe.

To the contrary, we have people here who seem to think if we build you to look like us then you'll be like us.

If anyone was doing any milking, it was those who were involved in awarding and executing the contracts. Sure, Karzai and some of his minions along with a few warlords likely got rich, including some of the Taliban leaders to not attack us, but that was chump change compared to what the companies themselves made.

That is some grade A BS.
Quite willing to back up my claims. I've given years in the industry and still am working on projects around drone munitions. The men on the production lines ought to have a better idea than keyboard consultants. You could have disagreed with grace and facts.

We bombed kabul after losing around 30 soldiers in 24-36 hours. That was the least Pakitan could do after such massive losses

Even today we accepted ceasefire within an hour of dropping a facesaving bomb in kabul. We don't even know what we killed in that strike. We accepted ceasefire hours after Taliban mutilated our soldiers deadbodies and filmed them proudly. This is cowardice and shamelessness. We would most probaly also return the posts that we captured in past few days. This is not answering transgressions.

Now look at this from East today:

Operation Sindoor 2.0 has to be more deadly."

Lt. Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, GOC Western Command,
Okay and Pakistan will just say thank you and give them a Medal. I guess that's what their plan is.

As per somone's valuable advice ... don't bring a Mercedes to a Truck Fight.

Pakistan need to put up two clear demands

1.Never speak against Pakistan territorial integrity (durand line)

2.Ttp shoukd be removed and dissembled

N0.1 is important because thats what motivates no.2
If its all stupid hogwash talks accept them regrouping
Good suggestions and ideally I would agree. But it is my assumption this will not work. In fact, it will more or less be non-starter.

1. No Afghan will agree to this. Its a death nail for them. Previous Taliban regime (the actual one) just left it at status quo with no fuss. But then the border was open and virtually meaningless, at least for them.

2. Ideally yes - not only removed and disassembled but extradited for their crimes. However, making any distinction between TTA and TTP, despite seemingly separate command chain, would be foolish. They are same.

Additionally, with Taliban appeasing India and latter planning to reopen its Afghanistan mission, Pakistan's concerns are no longer limited to the above two issues. Without forcing Taliban to subject their foreign and security policies to Pakistan's assent we'll not be able to stabilize our Wild Wild West.
